Can you ask your friend if the parameters for Wiggins includes having Dieng as part of deal?

All of this sounds about right, logically speaking. I think if Wiggins were truly on the table, a deal in principle would have been announced by now. Even the Herald, after being the first to report Wiggins was being offered, later backpedalled. Not to mention, if the reports of Love's agent requesting a trade to the Cavs are true, their leverage went out the window because that underscores the fact that the Cavs could simply wait and sign him in the off-season without giving up anything.

My dream scenario is that the Cavs play hardball, involve a third team (i.e. Thad and Philly) and get Love for Thompson, Bennett and picks. Probably a pipedream but it's hard to justify more without a long term contract in place.

Ima guess what your friend does.....maybe a team marketing agent? You'd think they have to be notified of changes in advance so they can set up the merchandise and have it ready. But how he would've gotten the other info about Wiggins never being included in a deal is beyond me

But I do like the idea that we pretty much gave Minny a final offer and will leave if they don't accept by weeks end. I have no idea why they think we are bluffing either. We have fucking LeBron James, in all honesty were not the ones who should be desperate to deal....THEY are because Love is gone regardless

Embiid would go to Cleveland. Cavs would send Waiters and Bennett and picks to Minny for Love. Philly gets their guy. Minnesota gets nice haul of young players and picks. Cavs get Love and value for Wiggins.
Philly gets: Wiggins, Bad Contracts, Bennett?
Cavs gets: Embiid and Love
Minnesota gets: Waiters, Young, Saric, Bennet?, Draft Picks and shed bad contracts.

It's something in the marketing department. The reason they need advanced warning is so they don't set up promotions, signage, TV spots, and merchandise revolving around a player who will no longer be there.

If the entire reason the Cavs are willing to.give up Wiggins rather than roll the dice on signing Love after the season or trading at the deadline is because of the urgency to win now, why would they want Embiid? They're incredibly thin up.front. If they're trading for a big man it's going to be one who can play.

How so? Philly wanted Wiggins. Offer was allegedly 3rd and 10th picks, plus Thad Young. Philly needs to take on some contracts. Nobody mentions Embiid is not signed.

Haywood may never see the court, AV is a 20 min / 60 game guy in a good year, Powell is an unknown at this stage and Love isn't a rim protector. It would be a lot.more logical for both teams if it were Noel, not Embiid since Philly isnt in win now mode.

I am a new poster here who has been viewing the board for a while. Now I know people with inside sources are always questioned and that's fine. But my father was an NBA scout for 22 years and still on speaking terms with some big wigs in the league. One of the previous posters was correct in saying this is the last offer the Cavs will submit to the T'Wolves. The cavs signed wiggins to make it easier for them to take back kevin martins contract in the trade. Then the T'Wolves wanted to add in another pick making the offer:

Cavs receive:
Kevin Love
Kevin Martin

T'Wolves receive:
Andrew Wiggins
Anthony Bennett
3 2015 1st round picks

The cavs denied the offer and have since started to play some hardball with the wolves front office. There current offer stands at Dion Waiter, Tristan Thompson and 2 first round picks with the cavs receiving Love and Martin. Philly was actually involved in this trade for a short time for them to absorb Martins contract but nothing ever materialized. It's now been made clear that if the Wolves don't take this offer the cavs will move on to other trades already put in somewhat of motion. Targets include:

PF LaMarcus Aldridge
PF Blake Griffin
C DeMarcus Cousins

It's true the deal is at the 1 yard line but right now it's 4th and goal and it's TD or loss.
