Cavs employee here. I'm not very important, but here is the atmosphere behind the scenes. (self.clevelandcavs)

I'm not "high up" in the organization (as in, I am not hanging out with Gilbert or advising Griffin on trade scenarios.) I'm basically someone that does my job using information privy to me by immediate superiors. Here is what its like behind the scenes right now:

Things have been tense the past few days. Griffin, in general, seems much more annoyed by the idea media leaks than Chris Grant was. Some people have assumed Jason Lloyd had sources with Chris Grant's people, and they would likely be correct. Anyway, Griffin has particularly stressed to those around and under him to make sure everything is tight lipped about everything going on now. People are still going to talk, but apparently the deterrence is working at least fairly well.

Having said that, most everyone I work with are operating under the assumption that Lebron is coming back.

If Lebron was really mulling between Miami and Cleveland then the Granger and McRoberts are a negative. As I hear it from certain people closer to the situation, Lebron and Rich Paul were "baffled" at the signings. McRoberts could be understandable, but neither get the Granger signing. It's kind of a gamble given his injuries and recent production, especially since the team was in a precarious situation financially in regards to attracting FA. If Miami is running under the assumption that Lebron is leaving, then those signings kind of weirded them out. He is not really fond of either player.

In truth, it's hard to determine if Miami is truly confident in Lebron returning (per Woj) or if they are just allowing that idea to leak out there for some reason. It's hard to say what they are trying to do. One thought: If Lebron leaves, they might want to retain Bosh and Wade and attract other quality FAs, but it's hard to believe they'd still want to compete. No one sure exactly what Bosh wants, but even if Lebron left, it's known he is extremely fond of living in Miami. Hunch is he is staying.

The entire NBA is kind of in a stale-mate right now, between the FA superstars, FA Role players, and various teams all waiting on each other. Melo teaming up with Lebron is a fantasy, but most here think even he is certainly interested to see what team Lebron might end up on before he makes his own decision.

Not sure when Lebron will announce. No one knows how much contact with Miami he currently really has, but it appears his camp has been in more contact with the Cavs.

Wow. IF that kid is a Cavaliers employee and they find out who he is, he's in deep crap.

Eh...he didn't really tell us much we didn't already know aside from the fact that the members of the Cavs front office think LeBron is coming back.

Everything else is common sense. We knew LeBron hated Granger and probably didn't like McBob. We also knew neither of those signings really moved the meter. We knew Lloyd had sources within Grant's office, as his insider info almost completely dried up after Grant was fired and his animosity toward the Cavs was ramped up. We also knew the NBA was in a stalemate and waiting for LeBron and/or Carmelo to make up their fucking minds.
