Has anyone played either baseball franchise over the past couple of years?

I've played MVP baseball 2005 for three years because I could create/edit the Indians' minor league players and have everyone in the game at the same time. Now that I have a new system, I need a new game.

I've looked at both games and 2K8 looks like the better game and I've heard some awsome things about it, but does either game have a minor league system where you could put in guys like Wes Hodges, Adam Miller, Ben Francisco, Ryan Mulhern, Chuck Lofgren, etc. etc.???? That'd be the selling point for me.

Anyone prefer one over the other?

By the way, and I don't know if this was in either 07 game, but I heard in MLB 2K8 and maybe The Show 08 that The Jake will now feature John Adams and during rallies you will be able to hear his drum. How awsome is that? That's a sweet home field feature right there.

My guess would be no on that one, Id assume it would be to hard for programers to put in all those guys. I mean think about it, each team has 3 minor league teams, so thats at or over 100 teams right there, add in about 20 players, thats 2,000 extra names and 100 more teams/stadiums that are programed into the game, that would be HUGE. I havent had a baseball game since Ken Griffey on the N64, I would think the games have changed since then, but i dont think its possible to do all that.

MLB 2K5 had almost all of the minor league guys if I remember correctly. If they did it back then, I would think they would be able to still do it, no?

I read both producer interviews...

I can't find it where I saw the Jake Drummer was in the game, it may have been MLB 08. I believe MLB 2K8 has minor leagues and some of the more popular stadiums to use.

MLB 2K8 will have 90 minor league teams and 20 minor league stadiums. And potential downloadable minor league stadiums according to Wikipedia.

None of these games will have minor league players who aren't on their respective teams 40-man rosters because their is no minor league player's association to come to terms with. However, the games should have minor leaguers who are on the 40-man roster. For the Tribe that would include Adam Miller, Scott Lewis, Michael Aubrey, Ben Francisco and the like. They should also have former major league players who are now in the minors.

I wonder if you can play seasons as minor league teams. Hopefully they have Fifth Third Field (Toledo Mudhens)

The Show has a minor league system, If you start a Road to The Majors or something like that, You can choose a team nad make a guy and choose his position and choose the team you want to try out for, if you get signed you will be in their minor leagues if you don't beat out the guy, if you don't get signed you can look for another team

I downloaded the demo for "The Show" I think thats what it was, the one with Ryan Howard on the cover, the graphics are amazing, im just not very good with the new baseball games. Ill just stick to my N64 for my baseball fix.

2K8 is so much better, imo. It's taking a while for me to get hitting down, but such a better game.

The last good baseball game was MVP 2005 for Xbox. I've never been a fan of the 2k series but I haven't tried 2k8 yet.
