I was watching Role Models this weekend and one of the previews is for a new horror movie called "The Unborn." It looked extremely scary. The premise is that a girl discovers that her twin brother was destroyed in utero so that she could survive. It looks like the brother is trying to use various people's bodies and minds to get to her.

I am a horror movie freak. It's tough to find good horror movies and at first glance, this one looks pretty original and very frightening. Gary Oldman is in it and he has a very good track record of taking roles in movies that are either innovative (Bram Stoker's Dracula, Batman Begins, Dark Knight) or totally original (Fifth Element, The Professional) Plus it has a hot chick in it.

Here's the trailer for the movie and an imdb link for anyone who is interested.

Great trailer til the end. You knew the thing inn the chair would scream, and it wasn't even in a fashion that surprises you or anything, just a lame gotcha moment.

But the movie looks good.

Wow, that looks freaking terrifying. And it's pro-life in a round-about kind of way lol. This my friends, is why we don't kill babies...

No, you just to dispose of the body when you're done.

This moment brought to you by Wolfman.

Looks good.

I'm interested to see what Michael Bay does with his Friday the 13th remaking coming up in a few months.

Looks pretty good actually but almost all of these horror flicks end up being disappointments. I hope this is an exception.

Exactly. That's why I'm hopeful about this one. I'm usually pretty good about predicting whether a movie is good or not based on the preview and I have a good feeling about this one.

Then again...I thought Zohan was going to be awesome after seeing a couple previews.

Out of curiosity guys...what horror movies or books do you really like?

I thought the Ring was terrifying as far as newer movies go. Out of the older movies The Haunting is pretty damn good.

I'm on this weird horror movie and book kick lately. I'm on my fourth Stephen King book in 6 months (Shining, It, Nightmares and Dreamscapes and now on The Mist). I also just read the book The Haunting was based on. I'm reading the Mist and the HP Lovecraft stuff at the same time and they are both very good.

Lovecraft is AMAZING btw if anyone is interested. As a pt of reference for Metallica fans, Call of the Kthulu is a reference to a story by Lovecraft by the same name. For Stephen King fans, a great deal of his inspiration came from Lovecraft's stuff.

If anyone has any recommendations, put em here. I'm all ears.

I didn't care for the ring. I thought it was pretty good til the ending, hated the ending.

IT is by fat the scariest movie ever...

What ever happened to Tim Curry (The dude who played IT)

The scariest movie i've ever seeen was friday the 13th # 1 and that was when I was 10. I haven't been scared of a movie in years. Saw was just laughable although I haven't seen the newest one as i'm cooped up in my house :(.

PS how in the hell do you get scared by a book?

The preview would have been perfect if at the end that thing in the chair looked up and BAMMM it's Popeye Jones..

It was. He hasn't brushed his teeth since he retired.

Not a fan of Michael Bay...I was excited about the new Friday the 13th until I seen he was directing it (although I do like how Jason actually runs after his victims, instead of magically appearing infront of them). IMO he ruined the Texas Chainsaw remake. I don't know why, but all of his movies seem to have the same Will Smith, "Bad Boys" feel to them. Too Hollywood, no substance. But.....will prolly still see it anyway, impulsively.

Required reading assignments in highschool used to scare me more than any movie. :chuckles:
