I just finished Witcher 3, having gotten many of the achievements in my first playthrough.

I'm honestly a little bit sad that it's over with and that I can't experience that game for the first time ever again. At this point it simply has to be front runner for Game of the Year awards, between the gameplay, graphics, the writing, the music, the voice acting, character and monster design... all perfect. Definitely was not disappointed and cannot wait for the DLC to drop, which I will be getting as soon as it is available. I hear it's an additional 30 hours, which is scary to think about when you consider I dumped probably at least twice that amount into this game and still haven't finished everything.

Guess I'll go back and finish Inquisition now, although I'm already bracing for disappointment -- not because it's not a good game, but because I already know it doesn't even compare to Witcher 3.

Also planning on picking up a copy of ESO. It's on sale for $40 on Amazon Prime today.
 
Just started Dragon Ball Xenoverse, it seems really fun if you're huge into DBZ. Some cool, much needed innovation there.
 
So I fired up some Mario 64 and it made me think. Some of those stars are a F'ing pain to get. I have no idea how I even got 100+ as younger kid.

Video games were a lot harder when we were kids. Games like Call of Duty that hold your hand the entire time have pussified the medium as a whole. Now almost every game basically always tells you what to do 100% of the time, and if you struggle for more than a minute you're immediately given a "hint" that tells you what to do.

Mario 64 is hard now because you're not as used to games that required skill and figuring things out on your own.

Yeah for sure, felt good to get back at a game like this though. One thing I am thankful for is modern cameras in games. Mario 64s can be so bad at times.

Also probably has something to do with game developers devoting much more time to enhancing online play than single player story modes.
 
Thinking about picking up grand theft auto 5 for Xbox one on the cheap. I've already beat it for Xbox 360. I can get it for 20 bucks. Sre the extras worth it thanks.

I'm on the PS4 after originally playing it on the 360, and if you liked the game before, I'd definitely pick it up. The single player is more or less the same with slightly better graphics and performance, but the online has been jacked up with a lot of new features. Heists are fun and they just came out with an update literally like two days ago that added new cars and a new gun.
 
Okay Thanks stark yeah I don't have live I'm more of a offline player I don't have gold. So if I don't have hold is it still worth the 20 bucks?

If you enjoyed the playthrough the first time, no reason to not pick it up if you want to go through the story again. I did, and I've enjoyed it.

Been playing through it on Xbone. Love it, great great game. I had only played up to like the first heist on X360 before. Glad I ended up playing it on Xbone instead.

Yeah. I'll most likely get it. It sucks I don't have xbox gold but I enjoyed the story and the actual game. Looking forward to the first person camera. Thay looks tight.

Dragonball XV is still really fun, but like all DBZ games, if you arent a mega fan you won't like it for very long. I am legitimately "wowed" by some parts of the story, it is really well done as far as alternate plots go.

Part of the game is an RPG element that is pretty casual as far as RPGs go, which is great for me cuz i dig a relaxing gaming experience. To get all the loot you have to replay fights, which is actually kind of cool because for those fights you pick a team of 3 fighters, and it can actually be pretty different each time you play it.

Once when fighting Vegeta in the end of the Saiyan saga, Goku (my CPU teammate) got his ass kicked and I lost really quick, on my replay, Goku held is own and actually helped me out. I like this because it shows the game's fights aren't just scripted events, so I know when I replay it, it will at least be somewhat different.
 
Debating getting a Wii U... really want to play some Mario.

Good idea?
 
I think I've finally played enough of Arkham Knight to give it a review. I haven't beaten it, primarily because my PC copy, which ran mostly fine for the longest time, recently decided that it was going to become totally unplayable right near the end of the game. I haven't rebooted since I found that out last night (the first time I'd played it in about a week or so), which I'll try later, but for now just know that I'm right around the finale of the game.

Spoilers for where I'm at for reference...do not click if you haven't beaten the game:
I just found out that Oracle was still alive. Gordon shot me in the chest. I defended Babs from a bunch of drones and then went to the clocktower to reboot her servers (or something like that).

I understand this to be pretty near the final section of the game, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, if I had to pick a word to sum up Arkham Knight, it would be disappointing. There are three key problems with this game the way I see it, and they all involve the Batmobile.

1. The Batmobile just isn't that fun. It controls very slippery when it's a car and, while the tank controls are fine, there's just no depth to the gameplay and it never feels challenging.

2. They force the Batmobile down your fucking throat. Almost every side mission involves the Batmobile. Almost every boss fight is a fucking tank battle (or just nonexistent...during the Two-Face showdown he was just suddenly captured even though I never actually took him down). Riddler rooms are now race tracks or Batmobile puzzles. It just becomes more than a little absurd.

3. Stealth predator and melee combat sections are shorter and less fun, presumably as a result of the inclusion of the Batmobile and the game's mandate to force you to use it as much as possible. You know how the best part of every other Batman game was the awesome indoor areas filled with combat rooms, stealth sections, and puzzles to crack before you could advance? Yeah, those are almost entirely gone, and the stuff replacing it is smaller, easier, and not as intricate.

The real shame is there are times when the Batmobile is utilized really well. There is a puzzle section early on in the game that uses it to open up a new pathway for you, and the Riddler puzzles involving the Batmobile are generally both fun and challenging. The problem is everything else. The Riddler race tracks are beyond stupid, and don't at all seem like something the Riddler would cook up. The massive amounts of tank combat border on ludicrous, especially since all the tanks you go up against are very conveniently unmanned drones. If the Arkham Knight knows so much about Batman (and he does), why not put fucking people in those tanks and remove Batman's ability to just destroy them? And you will go up against so many goddamn drones in this game, both in the campaign and some of the sidequests.

The ultimate problem here is that this is a Batmobile game that features Batman, and not a Batman game that features the Batmobile. Almost everything in this game is designed around utilizing the Batmobile, which hurts all the more because the Batmobile is just so generic. It's fun at first, but quickly wears out its welcome when you have to fight with it again and again and again and again and again with no end in sight. Given how well Rocksteady seems to understand Batman and his enemies, it's almost shocking that they whiffed so badly here. When you think about what makes Batman Batman, does tank combat ever come to mind? Of course not! And as such, it shouldn't be a massive part of a Batman video game.

It's a shame because this is easily the best story Rocksteady has ever put together. Conroy and Hamill shine together as always, and the Joker just steals the show whenever he's on screen. I love his role as Batman's guilty conscience, or the voice pushing Batman to snap and kill someone. It's just fantastic writing, and Hamill sells it like everyone who has heard him play the Joker knows he can. The story is still totally ridiculous just like the first two games, but I didn't notice it as much here because of how great the Joker was. It's just ironic that Rocksteady finally totally nailed a Batman story while fumbling the gameplay. It's basically the polar opposite of the first two games, which struggled at telling a coherent story (usually because too much crap was shoved in...although I didn't really mind because the characters were all great) but nailed what it was like to be Batman.

Unfortunately, this being a Batman game, nailing what it's like to be Batman is kind of key to the experience. What really stuck out to me was the stealth predator sections. These were a highlight of previous games, but here they are just dumbed down and not all that fun. The sections they take place in tend to be massive, which makes it entirely too easy to take out a guard without anyone finding him. Floor vents are now vast as well, meaning you can get across entire areas without ever leaving them, which further saps the challenge. You also have significantly less gadgets to work with, so less variety when taking guys down. Oh, and they also removed the heart monitors that would instantly alert everyone when you took somebody down in Arkham City...you know...the thing that made those predator sections actually challenging. All in all, it adds up to an experience that just isn't very satisfying.

So yeah...really disappointed in this game.
