The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just finished Witcher 3 a few days ago. Put in around 200 hours and did everything but all ?'s in Skellige. Geralt ended up lvl 36. I also didn't kill the lvl 48 Griffin in Skellige.

This was the best RPG I've played in I'm not sure how many years. Fallout 3 is probably the only game I can think of in recent memory. It's better than Skyrim and pretty much anything else I've played. Story, Combat, Gwent, Visuals, Music, Atmosphere, there's nothing bad about this game. If you haven't play it you need to. Not sure about the console version but the PC version has been updated a bit and polished it even more (it was already 99% polished).

The worst part about this game was it ending. I was so depressed when I finished it. Just have to wait for their two DLC's now.

I'm at 84 hours and it looks like I'm staring down the barrel of the ending. I've only got a handful of side quests left and my only main quest option is the Isle of Mists one, which I assume is one of the last in the game. Kind of bittersweet to only have a bit left in this game. It's definitely been the game I've sunk the most hours into (not counting TF2) since probably Fallout 3.

Just an FYI, Green Man Gaming is currently offering the PC version of Mad Max for 40% off, so $36 effectively. Thankfully, as someone who already purchased it, they were nice enough to refund my original purchase at 23% off so that I could re-purchase the game at the lower price.

The offer is on the VIP page. I think the only prerequisite for viewing that page is being a member on their site, which is free.

New episode of Tales from the Borderlands dropped today.

If you dig the episodic games check out Life is Strange. I've found it to be far better than most TellTale games I've played.

Game is surprisingly good, excellent in fact when looking at story structure, pacing, use of music and the way player choice changes certain parts of the story. There are certain choices you may make that will feel like they drastically impacted the story.

The story itself gets really dark, uncomfortable at times even. This is something that you wouldn't expect if someone only played the first episode or demo.

The job Ashly Burch (Tiny Tina) did for the voice acting is some of the best of heard in awhile (after the first episode) . The best scenes are in later episodes. Didn't want to mention any details about the story because it has detective and puzzle elements so don't want to ruin it for anyone interested.

Wow, could we see a three way duke out for GOTY? Metal Gear Solid 5 is garnering some insane reviews. My only concern with it is it sounds like the story is kind of sprinkled in throughout up until the end where it goes balls deep. For an MG game, not sure I'm okay with that.

Either way, sounds like it's a fantastic game. Witcher 3 and MGS5 have delivered (the latter, at least, judging by early reviews). Wonder if Fallout 4 can.

Definitely going to be an interesting year for the Game of the Year race, which is like the opposite of last year when there were tons of options because none of them were really anything special.

By the way, I just found out online that Isle of Mists is apparently nowhere near the end of the Witcher 3 main story, and that there are at least ten main quests to go. Jesus this game is fucking long. I thought I was at the end game. Nope. Eight-five hours and counting. I am down to three secondary quests, three witcher contracts (two of which are for levels much higher than where I am at now), and a bunch of scavenger hunts that will let me craft gear I can't use right now anyway (which is why I'm holding off).

Id say its about 3/4 of the main quest storyline, maybe down to 2/3 at the least. Buckle up, cuz the groundbreaking set pieces are coming.

Yeah, I just finished up the Isle of Mists and got back to Kaer Morhen. Gotta get some sleep now, but I'd like to get this game finished before next week when fucking Mad Max and Phantom Pain come out on the same day because they hate my free time.

They just made it seem in game like the Kaer Morhen bit was going to be the end, so I was more than a little surprised to find out I still had a ways to go. Once nice thing is that the Isle of Mists quest jumped me all the way from level 27 to level 30, though.

Rented Arkham Knight for a week. Beat the whole thing. Except I had like 70 riddles left to get so I didn't get to see the capturing the riddler part or the final Night Fall protocol.

Decently fun game. I enjoyed the story more than the game play. The game play gets super repetitive, and I knew that would probably be the case so that's why I rented it instead of bought it. Still might buy it when it's super cheap in the future to finish it and maybe check out the DLC's, idk.

Story was a little bit predictable on who the Arkham Knight was and I didn't even play Arkham City. But there was some great twists in the story. Finding out who the Arkham Knight was probably wasn't even the second biggest twist to me.

The batmobile fights were annoying and so was most of the fighting, except I really enjoyed the dual team fighting. That was fun. But the story was the best part. I don't want to spoil anything, but I had ideas to make it even crazier.

The riddler trophies are pretty hard. I can't even believe my own logic on how I figured some of them out. They can get frustrating too, but also they feel the most satisfying thing to get in the game for me.

It just sucks when there is something super easy if you know how to do it, and it's taking me 30 minutes to an hour to figure it out. Not even with just the riddles but on some of the base capturing things too. Like one of them had a bunch of sentry guns and I was trying to take it down by myself until an hour later I figured out you could bring the batmobile in and it takes everyone out in 5 seconds.

The Arkham Knight doesn't appear in Arkham City at all, either as the Knight or as his actual identity. I agree, though, that the twist is totally obvious to anyone who is familiar with Batman, especially after a certain scene during the game.

Since I returned the game, I had to look up the final protocol on youtube. Some interesting explanations on it. I wonder where they are taking the game from here.

Well, supposedly Rocksteady is done with the Arkham series now, so it'll probably have to be someone else who takes over. Then again, maybe that was a play on words and they are starting a new Batman series that isn't titled Arkham. The prequel that other company made was competent enough, though, and had better writing than the first two Arkham games, so if they take over it wouldn't be terrible.
