I played in a touring punk band through high school and college. Got to open for the Misfits, which was a dream come true. We also got to play some bigger shows like Riot Fest in Chicago and multiple Warped Tour dates. Played with some lesser known punk legends like UK Subs, The Unseen, The Casualties, etc.
Was a fairly successful local stand up comedian for a couple years. Won a couple contests, had a terrible paying booker, and told jokes in some of the most bizarre rooms. I once used a bible to tell a joke in a restaurant attached to a bowling alley and I had a mic in the corner while everyone ate dinner. Someone threw a dinner roll at me and it was perfect.
I lived with undiagnosed anxiety and depression until my late 20’s, since my family doesn’t really believe in mental health…or feelings for that matter. I still struggle, but I now have the tools to live a healthy productive life. I went from unemployed in my late 20’s to a nice paying gig as a fraud investigator for a financial company by my early 30’s. Probably my biggest accomplishment in life was going to therapy and really doing the work.
I married my college sweetheart and we’re still going strong. Our relationship is the gold standard for all our friends…and that feels pretty good.
I’ve never met a human who can chug a beer faster than me.
