Though trading Gooden, Snow could help long term - BW

I understand, but you have to remember when you drop Drew off, we are receiving something in return. My point was that we have good depth at power forward, and losing Drew would have an effect on the team like what is occuring with Larry out.

As for Marshall and shooting too many 3 balls, this is something that the coaching staff can surely change. Obviously Marshall feels comfortable out there, but he needs to mix it up inside as well, which comes down to the coach running sets with him in the post or there abouts.
^ No doubt but before everyone writes off Gooden (which I've posted frequently we have to do if we can get a legitimate starting PG) we should see how he does with AV.

He played real well with AV in the lineup and the Cavs looked real good with both of them in there. Dominanting the boards when you have Lebron and Hughes in the same lineup would almsot be guarenteed. I guess what I'm saying is that it doesn't necessarily have to be one or the other when it comes to Drew and AV. Particularly since Z with his lack of footspeed gets himself into early foul trouble

Windhort's article strikes me as being based on an "off the record" conversation with Ferry. The main point of the article is that the Cavs need a quality point guard more than anything else, which I think almost everybody on the board recognizes. Compounding Snow's game is his ridiculous contract, which makes him very hard to move unless you pair him with a tradeable asset like Gooden.

The downside to the trade is that it would leave the Cavs a bit thin up front. Z is inconsistent, but his average production is about what it's usually been. He could play more minutes if he quit making all those stupid fouls. Marshall is not really a candidate to play many more minutes than he already is playing. (Is he really just 32?) And while we all love Varejao for his rebounding and defense, he hurts us offensively. Henderson is filler.

The upside is that you dramatically upgrade the shooting guard position by getting rid of Snow, and you don't give up much at power forward because you have replacements for Gooden. I don't know who this point guard of the future is, but I think this is the thought process behind Windhorst's article.
