I couldn't help but notice how badly Cleveland needs another scorer. What do Cavs fans think about this?

As a long time Bucks fan, I can assure you that Mike Redd isn't strictly a jump shooter; he's as good as anyone driving to the basket and is creative generating offense off the dribble (Miller/Hamilton-style). He's excellent at creating his own shot and is really fun to watch when he gets hot. He routinely destroys great defensive teams like the Spurs, Pistons, Lakers, Jazz, and the Mavs. Ask any Piston fan how good Redd is.

The Bucks were a sorry squad to watch (even more so) while he was on the DL for about 7 weeks (averaged 27.7 ppg before injury) only winning 3 games the entire time he was out. In fact, the only reason we're competitive at all against the elite teams is because of Redd. People don't realize how awful the team really is; although horrible coaching has a lot to do with our wackness.

I guess the only negative is his mediocre defense, but the Cavs play great team defense so I doubt it'll be a major problem. Wally World looked like a decent defender for crying out loud.

As for Mo, he's really much more of an undersized 2-guard than a pg but he's still a better distributer than D.West. He's also a much more dynamic scorer and a decent rebounder for his size (averaged more rebounds than West). Again, his defense might be a problem but I doubt it with your defensive system. He's not any worse than Gibson or Damon "the worst player in the world" Jones.

Mo's numbers for the season: 17.2 ppg/ 3.5 rpg/ 6.3 apg
Delonte's: 10.8 ppg/ 3.3 rpg/ 4.2 apg

I truly believe that if either of these guys were with the Cavs for game seven you would have came out victorious.

Redd is a local kid at the top of most people on here's wish list....what would it take to get him on our team? Make up a trade proposal, many of are curious to what an educated bucks fan would want in return.

I'm almost certain the Bucks would take a few expirings and the Cavs first rounder for Redd (might also throw in Gadzuric; a quick and athletic center). We have a lot of talent, but by the time they develop Redd could be past his prime and he would be hard to deal with his huge contract.

Wally and Snow plus this years or next years 1st for Redd and Gadzuric and this years 2nd.

We are taking on a bad contract in Gadzuric...3 more years at 6 mill a year for a 3rd string center who is 30 years old

We give you a 1st for a 2nd, wally who expires after this year, and snow who will retire, so you wont have to pay his contract. huge money savings, but his contract still counts against the cap, the insurance company will pcik him up.

We get Redd, and we have done better with 2nd round picks anyways :chuckles:

So something like.....

Wally Szczerbiak -- 1 year 13M remaining
Eric Snow -- 1 year 7.3M remaining
#19 overall pick
Total Salary Next Season -- 20.3M

for

Michael Redd -- 3 years, 51M remaining (I'm assuming he accepts his 18.3M for 2010/11)
Dan Gadzuric -- 3 years 20.1M remaining
Total Salary Next Season -- 21.9M

This trade saves the Bucks over 49M dollars over the next three years.

This would immediately give the Cavs a legitimate 2nd scorer and starter at shooting guard. Gadzuric doesn't have a ton of talent, but he could play some backup C.

Plus, that would leave the Cavs with Damon's 4.4M expiring, Varejao's 5.7M expiring, Sasha's 4.5M expiring (his third year I've been told is not fully guaranteed) and according to the ESPN trade machine;

1.75M trade exception for Wesley
1.629M trade exception for Simmons

CBBI, I would want a 2nd round pick back if we take on A bad contract in Gadzuric

those will definitely get it done.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Williams. Are you guys that happy with Delonte or just prefer Redd?

williams is a slight upgrade over west, but he was the only one showing any heart besides LBJ night in and night out during the series, plus west provides much better d than Mo. We need a shooter and scorrer at the 2 and Redd gives us that

No.. Mo has the ability to be a MAJOR upgrade over West..

Mo has real PG instincts, rebounds well for his position, and is exactly what we need from the PG spot.. He can play off the ball, and is very talented with it..And I also believe Mo Williams would be a big game player... He's a clutch 4th quarter player, and he's only 25 or 26 years old..

I would take him in a heartbeat over Redd...

I think he would be a pretty significant upgrade as well. He absolutely murdered us this season.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with Lee about the defense.. But, if coach Brown can get guys like Wally and Sasha to play defense, I'm sure Mo Williams could come along in the system...

I just love the way he moves with the ball, has the ability to get his midrange shot off, and he's a player that can get hot at anytime..

Redd just promotes more spot up shooting IMO... Give me the guy that can handle the ball, and give you more of an all around effort on the court..

Out of curiosity Willie what type of package would you want for both Mo and Redd?

i'd like to give up snow and wally in separate deals, since they make the most money (if it's just redd).

Jones, Smith, Varejao will all be expiring as well, I'd like to put a combination of them in the trade and leave either wally or snow for another deal down the road. those guys are worth $20 million on their own, I'd put Damon and Wally together for 17-18 mil and save Snow's 7-8 mil and Smith's 5 mil for something else.

now, if both williams and redd could be had in the same deal, that's a whole other story (or if a snow/wally combo could net someone really really good).

All of these trade ideas sound great, but I'm more curious if there has been any talk in the Milwaukee area about the possibility of Redd or Williams being traded. Can anyone, maybe Willie Colon, shine some light on that?

Ramon Sessions busting out like a mother****er is good reason to trade Mo Williams.. Dude was averaging like 20ppg and 23asts before the season ended.
