TIME FOR NEW JERSEY DESIGNS. New era = New look... (post #847)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Why so many people trying to turn us into the Knicks. Wine and Gold is what people know the Cavs as now.

Bunch of sticklers around here...... :chuckles:

Ok. last one......same style, more original colors.

I finally got around to finishing my new logo for the Cavs.

I tried incorporating as much as I could.
The shield is the same shape as the one on the Cleveland flag
The ball at the bottom represents the ball in the V of the 80s Cavs logo.
The background circle is an owed to the 70s logo.
The crossing swords represents the latest Cavs logo.
The Ohio flag is obviously there to represent the only NBA team in Ohio.
The skyline is obvious again.

Love it. The one slight criticism I might make is the choice of the Key Bank building in the skyline silhouette. The Terminal Tower is still the iconic building. It would be great to have an image that includes the Terminal Tower, Key Bank, and the SOHIO Building (as I will always call it).

I'd buy a shirt with it as is though. Don't mean to take away from the work, because it's awesome and pretty close to perfect.

I've got the photoshopping skills of a three wheeled car, so I'm not even going to bother embarrassing myself with that.

I always thought a cool alternate jersey could start with wine coloring near the top, and fade to gold towards the bottom, or vice versa, kind of like a sunset.

Something kind of like that, but with solid coloring and not the little arrows separating things.

So something like FC Barcelona's hideous "MS Paint Gradient Fill/Tequila Sunrise" kit from a couple of season back lol?

GOODNESS ME! Wait until you see what A Squared just designed.. The perfect amalgamation of my skyline design and his original designs. Absolute perfection!

There's sentimentality with those colors because of the Cavs of the 80s and early 90s.

If orange comes back in, I'd prefer it be a burnt orange. Just as I'd prefer a darker blue, although the orange and blue that the Cavs wore in the late 90s were decidedly not Knicks colors. I could dig baby blue, black, and orange. But I also like blue mixing in with the wine and gold.

The Cavs have had several color variations during their history. They're the only Cleveland team that has seen much change over time.

No problem man. I do web development/graphic design for living so I'm use to critiques. I actually like it cause it usually does make for an improvement. I incorporated what you asked. Thanks for the compliments.

A large part of it is sentimental to me. I remember going to downtown Cleveland for the first time as a kid before Society Center was built (that's now Key Tower). It was Christmas and Public Square was lit up. And there was the first skyscraper I ever saw, the Terminal Tower. I've seen a lot since then, but my first is still my favorite. I love the design of that building. It seems to draw from the ancient design of Pharos, the Lighthouse of Alexandria. That makes a lot of sense when you consider that the Terminal Tower was originally supposed to bookend the Mall on the north side and be just south of Lake Erie.

Love all the thought you put into the logo. A Coat Of Arms really goes so well with the team's name. Cavaliers - the nobility that remained loyal to the King. Down with Cromwell!

Ok...so a giant shitty logo on the front that looks like the giant HP on the Tottenham kit

A jersey that, as was said above, looks like Barca's kit from a couple years ago, and a new logo that looks like a soccer crest?

The world cup is over guys

I tried my hand at designing some jerseys. Thanks CavsSimmy for the template link.

Needs more gold trimming.

Also would look better with the numbers and logo white with gold trim. Still a sleek and modern design tho.

EDIT: LeBron looks like he's going through massive liver failure..

I love the stuff people are coming up with here :) finally a productive uniform thread :chuckles: love everything and can't wait to see what Simmy and A Squared have in store for us!
