Tom Thibodeau has been fired

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Except this isn't anywhere else in the corporate world and Thibs isn't Patrick Bateman.

Find me an employer that doesn't have security escort someone out that was fired. You will not find one.

Having security waiting is standard everywhere.

Hated that they put a statement out there like that. Just say its time to go in another direction and call it a day. Just made the front office look petty. I have defended Reinsdorf in the past when people call the Bulls cheap but I do think he has plenty of faults. One is his loyalty. He also owns the White Sox (disclaimer: Cubs fan here) and their front office didn't get along with Ozzie Guillen who led them to 05 title. He needs to put loyalty aside and tell all parties to make shit work. But he always backs his front office (see Jerry Krause and the dismantling of a dynasty). It is completely clear that all sides had their faults. Front office meddles too much and Thibs was not willing to adjust his ways. Just completely made the organization look like shit.

Who on the board has been fired from the most jobs?

I'm going to guess me. And again, standard procedure whether it's a corporate office, a retail store, whatever. I've never been fired and not escorted out.

You're also a total creep though.

It's like when @Deezus thought all women hated oral sex because the two he's had sex with were disappointed by him.

They liked Mr. Floppy just fine... I think it was the thick forest he lived in that was the issue.

Currently praying for Anthony Davis. Don't want Thibs going to the Pelicans and ending his career by 2020.

I understand that security is often present post-termination, but we're talking about a NBA head-coach here. The face-to-face must have been unpleasant for them to sick their goons on him.

You stay classy, Chicago.

I've been laid off before from a Fortune 500 company and they didn't escort me out. My boss just told me to drop off my ID when I left at the end of the day.

Overrated coach. Runs his players into the ground. No hardware.

Would not bang.

I think he's going to fall into the long line of "culture builder" coaches that will keep getting jobs because he can get guys to buy into a system and play defense, but I agree that I don't know if he's a coach that can take you to the highest level. (Edit: I should clarify that I think he's at the top of that heap of coaches.)

Maybe this will force him to reevaluate his rigid philosophies, but I don't that's ultimately going to happen.

As a fan of the team that will own the Central Division for the foreseeable future, I'm not heartbroken about this to say the least. He'll be employed again in a week or two and that team will consistently win 50+ and defend the ever loving hell out of people.

Hope it's out West...

That surprises me. I've seen it pretty much anywhere I've ever worked.

Teams I could see dumping their current head coach to bring in Thibs:

WAS, CHA, POR, and PHX (As crazy at this one sounds, their GM is from Boston and that team fell apart last year due to a lack of leadership in the locker room.)

Thibs did an unreal job in Chicago and made the Central division much easier for the Cavs. Say what you want about him but his teams always overachieved. I don't think he'd be a good fit for a more finesse team like Chicago morphed into this year but he's dynamite with a scrappy team full of Jimmy Butler and Joakim Noah types.

The FO fired his top assistant, Ron Adams, who is now Steve Kerr's top guy in Golden State.

The coaching staff decided to draft Draymond Green but the FO swooped in and drafted Marquis Teague at the last second.

Not to mention the FO letting Korver and Asik walk despite the coaching staff's objections.

And now they shit on the guy on his way out. Now he can join Michael Jordan as another guy the Bulls want nothing to do with....
