Scenario: If the Indians were to trade Lee (or Martinez)

What type of haul do you believe can be had in return ?? And more importantly, is there any prospects that you would like to get your hands on, and feel would be a realistic get for a pitcher of Lee's caliber ?

I'd like to get a young stud starter for Lee, maybe a young 1 whose in the minors or even solid 2 rotation man. I would also like to get my hands on one of Boston's young pitchers, Lester, Buckholz, and they have a couple more on there roster and in the Minors.

I would love to get Tommy Hanson from Atlanta. And I think a Martinez for Cain deal with the Giants would be good for both teams

I don't think there's any way Hanson is on the table..

Maybe Buckholz from Boston since they keep jerking him around.. However, even though you can't have too much pitching, Boston has too much.. So I think Martinez would be their target.. Maybe snag Lars Anderson from them since the Indians don't have a first baseman worth a damn ??

I would look at the Mets, and maybe Fernando Martinez, or really roll the dice, and ask for their 17 year old Phenom, Wilmer Flores... Doubt he's gettable though...

The guy that intrigues me the most is from Texas..They're in the mix this year and might want to deal for a left handed starter to create a 1-2 with Millwood..The guy worth getting there is Neftali Feliz.. He has a chance to be a dominant closer.. W/ a fast ball that has potential of reaching 100 MPH..

For C.C., the Indians got 2 pretty high level prospects in LaPorta and Brantley. Of course, Milwaukee knew it was only a 3 month rental, so that drive down the price they would pay. If Cliff is traded, he still has another year on his contract. So even if Cliff isn't as dynamic as CC, the extra year drives up his price. So I'd look at a C.C. type deal at the least.

I would vomit if the FO trades either Victor or Cliff to the Red Sox or Yankees. I think it's unlikely that they are traded by the deadline. I do agree that we should only do deals if a top-flight, major league ready pitcher is involved in additon to another top 10-20 prospect. This team needs as much help as they can get.

I would vomit for the rest of the season if we traded one of them to the Red Sox or Yankees. That would just ruin the MLB season and playoffs for me. I hope the Red Sox get Adrian Gonzalez though, I want to see the Bankees spend all that money and win nothing.

I would say a good young starter who is in a rotation right now, plus a good young prospect pitcher in AAA, plus another young good prospect in AAA, pitcher or power hitter. If we could get those three types of players, then sure, trade Cliff. I also like some of the names mentioned in this thread. I really think the only teams who could and would give us the above are either the Yankees or the Sox.

What power hitters do they have in AAA

How can the Indians ever become a good team again if they all keep doing it ditching their best players every three years?

I want young, proven talent. Not prospects that we never see.

Get an owner who will spend money to win just like Dan Gilbert

Good luck with Cain.. The Giants won't deal there top pitching prospect for Victor, so I doubt they trade a proven young star.

I would trade Victor for Bucholz if that was on the table, LaPorta should be the first basemen for the future and Carlos Santana as the catcher. We need more pitching obviously.

LaPorta and Santana are the future, Brantley and Gimenez too

True, but a team this bad should at least have a few talented young players from the minors playing right now...

Kinda like what Pittsburgh is doing with McCutcheon.. The Indians are trotting out unproductive guys with low ceilings that are just spinning their wheels so to speak...

Ben Francisco.. Guy is hitting in the .230's with little power, a handful of stolen bases, and poor fielding.. Why is he playing over a young top level corner outfield prospect with power ??

*Why don't they have a young 3rd baseman or 1st baseman playing right now ??
*Any young fire-ballers coming out of the pen that looks promising ??
*Where's the young top pitching prospect ??

You trade a player like Sabathia to get a couple top level prospects... Problem is, they're not playing now... You mean to tell me Shapiro traded CC for guys that were 2 years away ?? WTF is that about ??

But, nonetheless, two of the main Indians prospects appear to be Brantley and Laporta... Perhaps trade Lee and Martinez, and land 3 or 4 more top level prospects and go from there and hopefully you land 5 or 6 top level prospects via these trades (Sabathia, Lee and Martinez) and you hope a guy like Santana is the real deal to go along with Nick Weglarz, and perhaps you have something...

It's obvious this group is not going to get it done...
