Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He needs to bring more to the table to be starting. I think Zeller brings more to the table as a starter than TT.

This I disagree with, Zeller is no where the player TT is. While I agree TT is not an All Star, he is a 3rd year big, 22 years old, that is still learning. I don't think you give up on a player who has improved every year. There are not many PF drafted the past few years I would take over TT, outside of Davis. If TT was 26 or 27, then I would agree, he is nothing more then a energy big, but he is 22, and has a strong work ethic.

AV killing the offense? Maybe Tristan (a couple times Deng fed him great passes but he hesitated to shoot and always does that dumb pump fake) but definitely not Andy. He and Deng were moving the ball around better than our guards for significant stretches of the game. Andy as a passer and midrange shooter has improved 100X recently.

Nah, cause hed still have picked Bennett. As for Zeller, if he cant get his otherworldly foul rate under control then 20 minutes a night is his cap.

Are you seriously asking why we're trying to develop TT's offense? Do you not want our players to be effective two-way players our something?

Tristans only 22, he's not even close to peaking. He's already a good 1-on-1 defender, which is a lot more than most NBA players under 25 can say. Give him more time learning MB's system and he will be an elite defender at the 4.

Wasted pick, give me a break. Look at some of the picks around TT, would you rather have Derrick Williams or Bismak Biyombo? Faried made an early impact but his game has leveled off recently.

Klay would have been a nice pick, and the Cavs tried to move up to draft him. Kawhi wouldn't have developed nearly as fast here than in SA, it's debatable if he'd have been a better pick. It's been said before, if you redrafted that class now TT would still be in the top 5. Hardly a wasted pick.

Jack filled our backup point guard need, and he's great insurance if kyrie goes down. Considering we were giving Donald Sloan heavy minutes a couple years ago I'm not going to complain about Jack.

And finally, why are you in such a rush to trade Andy? Guy is our only legit option at center and on a favorable contract. He's too injury prone to have as much value to other teams as he does to the cavs.

No he wouldn't. In hindsight I think TT would be barely inside the top 10 picks if a redraft were to occur. Yes, that was a weak draft but there were some gems in the rough hidden in there.

The only players I'd definitely take over Thompson from now on are Kyrie, Klay, and Parsons. A case can be made for Jonas, but we're not turning this thread into that. Are you throwing in Kemba? I wouldn't. Maybe Kawhi, but I need to see him in an expanded role.

Really? I figured the draft would go something like:
Kyrie
Klay
Parsons
Kawhi
Jonas
TT

I guess Kemba Walker should probably be up there, though Jonas over TT is questionable, in my opinion. I absolutely couldn't put 8 guys in front of him from that draft.

Jonas
Kemba
Klay
Kwahi
Vucevic
Tobias Harris
Faried
Reggie Jackson
Jimmy Butler
Parsons
Isaiah Thomas

No GM is going to trade any one of these players straight up in a player for player swap for Tristan Thompson. If I had one of those players I wouldn't be willing to trade them for Tristan Thompson either.

There's old Jimmy Butler. The most overrated player in the league.

And someone hasn't watched Tobias Harris play since last year, have they?

Do you watch any other games besides Cavs games bruh really?

Whats overrated about Jimmy Butler? He only posted a 7 winshare in under 30 minutes last year.

Which is worse, Jimmy Butler or Reggie Jackson?

I'll answer this when I re-watch the playoff games that they were contributing in last season k

So you're saying Chicago or OKC don't make the playoffs next year if either has Thompson instead of Butler/Jackson?

And here I thought Durant, Ibaka, Westbrook, Noah, Boozer, Deng, and Robinson were the names you could attribute to those teams' successes. Guess not?
