In the press box before the game, a source well-connected to the Notre Dame football program said Irish quarterback Brady Quinn hopes to play for the Browns. The source said Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis has informed Crennel of Quinn's feelings.

Do QB's realize that their bound to get creamed game in and game out?:chuckles:

Anyway, I'm not a big fan of Brady Quinn or his game...

I'd rather us take some other need, then waste it on a QB... I'd only take a QB 2nd round or lower... I just think we have way bigger needs of now...

If they want to be Cleveland Browns, you really have to question just how mentally stable they are...

Damn. We need an oline before a qb.

I'm starting to wonder if it wouldn't be wise to wait and draft a QB till later. There are soooo many good QB prospects in this draft, some are bound to drop to the second day.

Beat me to it, good find...

I want either Troy Smith or JaMarcus Russell..

Smith is a big game player..duel threat who rises to the occasion and finds a way to win..

Russell is huge...6'6" or 6'8" 255 and everyone says this guy has the most upside of anyone in the draft...

I want Joe Thomas with pick 3 but from then on get me a solid QB..

Quinn is too easily rattled...he won't be much in the NFL unless he starts showing up when it matters..he looks great against the Coast Guard and everything but he disappears when the pressure is on.

I agree with you there... As far as QB's go, those would be my top 2 choices..

6'6 260... I'd like to see him next to Troy Smith... :chuckles:

Seriously though, this kid does have talent and great potential... He really has no weaknesses, except for him being erratic at times...

His accuracy is pretty good and his INT's have been down all his years at LSU...

But the thing that sets him apart from all others, is his arm stength... I mean, his arm makes Troy's look like Charlie Frye's... He's got an absolute CANNON... I haven't seen a kid with this kind of arm in college or NFL... Ever.

Just take a look at this:

True... But you can't force that position in the 2nd... There might not be anyone there..

Although, there will be some pretty solid guys late, like Trent Edwards, Kevin Kolb, Drew Stanton etc..

I'd defintely pass on him... I just don't think he has "it"...

I want to trade up from the 2nd Round...deal some deadweight for day 2 picks and pair them with our 2nd to move up.

Id take Brady but he wont be there at 3

Radiers and Lions both need QB's and are picking ahead of us...if he is there than Detriot and Oakland are dumber than I thought

How do you figure? Is that your opinion or do you have any facts that would back up that assumption? Is Brady supposed to throw, catch, run and play defense? What the hell is he supposed to do?? He cant do everything by himself, which is what I think the majority of the nation expects him to do since he is the QB at Notre Dame. His stats speak for themself. He didn't have a bad game the entire year. The only two questionable games you can speak of that were "big" games that he "disappeared" in were Michigan, where two of the INTs were tipped balls but still managed to throw for 234 yards and three TDs on 50% passing and the USC game where he only threw for three TDs on 250 yards despite his WRs dropping everything thrown their way. Smith and Quinn had the same amount of INTs despite Quinn having nearly as many COMPLETIONS as Smith had attempts in passing. Quinn had almost more yards in one season than Smith did his whole career.

Dont say anything about the schedule because Notre Dame's SOS was still stronger than Ohio State, be it only by one spot, but it just goes to show that no matter how much OSU says Notre Dame cakes their schedule, the biggest cupcake is and always will be OSU in this argument. *http://sportsline.com/collegefootball/polls/119 for SOS rankings*

You say Troy Smith is a dual threat when he had one decent year running. He might have the ability to run, he is more like Jeff Garcia or McNabb in terms of running, but his arm isnt proven. 2507 was his best year passing, that's garbage. Thats not even top 30 in the nation. He did have some big games, but it also helps to play in front of probably the best OL in the nation with a damn good RB and two very talented WRs.

All you Troy Smith homers are going to have a rude awakening when it comes into the NFL.

Im with Truth here. I think Quinn is the best of the bunch this year...

Truth is right here....Quinn will be a very solid Pro QB and Id take him n the Browns over Smith in a heartbeat

the only way I dont want Joe Thomas is if we get lucky to snag Brady Quinn

I like JaMarcus Russell from LSU. It wouldn't suprise me to see him go #1 instead of Quinn. Especially after workouts.

Tell me you are being sarcastic here, because this couldn't be any further from the truth.
