Drew's post-game comments were interesting. He sounded like a guy taking over a brand new team with which he was completely unfamiliar. And I don't mean that in a disparaging sense towards Drew. It almost sounded like there was no clear strategy or approach under Lue at all. Like everything was rudderless, and so Drew has to start from scratch to see what works.
Didn't sound like Drew and Lue we're on the same page at all.
I don't think it's that surprising that Lue didn't really have a strategy. He really was about letting the players figure it out since he was here. I never thought it was a bad strategy when Lebron was here because it made it hard for other teams to defend us. We saw how Lue could figure out how to break down Brad Steve's offense year in and year out in the playoffs. Same thing with Toronto.
It was pretty clear in the 6 games this year that Lue didn't install any structure or plays. Even last year he didn't seem to interested in helping the new players along by giving them plays. Hill was even on the record about how him and Love had to come together and figure out plays to get Love going in the playoffs.
