I have to agree that the numbers don't support the general concensus that he doesn't have the skills to succeed in MLB.
He is 'unlikely' to hit MLB pitching, but he doesn't K much, while showing tremendous power. His BA is generally solid, and not sustained by high BABIP. It isn't like he is a dead pull hitter. The main knock is that he swings at everything and doesn't take walks.
He is a 'liability' on defense, but he hasn't made an error in RF and already has six assists in 35 games.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall when our decision makers are discussing him.
