Update from Boobie.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think that is why I want the Cavs to not blow everything up because we need to know if the guys who are currently there can still get it done at least to the playoffs... just for at least 1 season. Just 1...thats it. I believe the players that are left there deserve a chance to ride the emotional ride that the fans would provide to them. Andy, Boobie, Mo, JJ especially... and if Delonte is still there..Redz too. If our team comes up short next year for the playoffs we still have a shot at a top 3.

However, I am against acquiring unneeded contracts. We have jamison, andy and Mo already. no need to bring in Jefferson unless a draft pick is attached with him. Lowry would be a good pickup but again I wouldn't sign him for more than 3 years.... And I wouldn't give up any draft picks for him in a s&t.

Boobie is an excellent spot up shooter, I love his style and class but do not feel he is starter material. We'll see though if Mo gets dealt.

Love this letter from him, thanks for sharing. Kid shows he has heart.

I am hoping that Boobie is our 6th man this year. I think he can do what Delonte did, and if Jamison comes off the bench then he will have someone to open up his shot. He's a good guy and I always hated that he got shut out and could not develop. He has to stay healthy though.

A true Cav. We will draft get more. Just wait. :king: (BTW can we change this smiley so that ban is over his face?)Like this one..

Man, if anyone deserves to hold a grudge against the Cavs it's Gibson for basically being benched. He is a class act. Don't blow this team up until we give it a one year try. They should all have chips on their shoulders.

Ive always been a fan of Booobie's. This just boosts my respect for him even more.

So glad we didn't trade him. I remember a time when everyone (including myself) was calling for him to get traded. Most of the defenses in his favor was that LeBron liked him and that might "make him leave." I would've never guessed that a Houston guy would love Cleveland more than an Akron guy...

Thank you Boobie.

Great interview with Boobie from Vegas.

It just reiterates every positive thing that's been said about him in this thread so far -- he's a classy guy, with lots of heart. I was calling for him to get the playing time he deserves all of last year, hopefully he finally does under Scott.

"How many wins we had last year, 61? I say we going for 62 this year.":D

Actually Boobie, I doubt we'll ever forget "The Decision".

or get 62 wins next season

As much as Boobie has improved over the years and I actually am curious to see what he can do here, it seems to me that the Cavs might be squeezing him out of the rotation...once again..

I do love how great Boobie has handled all of this but the it seems like he Cavs would prefer someone else backing up the point guard spot and I'm not sure where that leaves Boobie...

The biggest problem is that having Boobie and Mo in the same backcourt causes all kinds of problems defensively and makes it difficult to play them together, which means one or the other will have to be cut out of the rotation... Now I know Scott mentioned playing both of them together but that will be short-lived and until Mo is shipped out of town, I really don't see where Gibson fits in..

It'll always be one or the other with Williams and Gibson on the same team and with Williams being the better player, as well as being the higher paid player, it'll always be Williams...

Boobie is the man and a does something lebron doesnt. SHOW LOVE FOR CLEVELAND AND THE STATE OF OHIO.

Longhorns alum Daniel Gibson: On LeBron and his new out-of-Texas home
08:57 PM CDT on Monday, July 19, 2010

Daniel Gibson joined 1560 AM The Game in Houston to talk about why he posted the positive comments about the Cavs on his blog and how surprised he was that LeBron made the choice to join Miami. This interview was transcribed by sportsradiointerviews.com

On why he sent the message to Cleveland fans on his website: “I guess that out of the gate, I had never been out of Texas to live. Then I got drafted 42nd to Cleveland and I had an unbelievable rookie year when I went to the Finals and everything like that. Throughout that whole season I felt comfortable playing in that city because everybody just seemed to be rooting for me just because I was a second round pick, not getting a lot of notoriety and whatever the case may be, everybody in the city just seemed to be rooting for me and hoping that I was successful. I just got a feeling for the city that if you’re a part of the culture, like the Cleveland Browns , Cleveland Indians whatever the case may be, they will go to war for you. I’ve seen guys literally crying after we lose a regular season game. It touched me watching how everything went down with the whole decision. I knew the people of Cleveland needed something positive and I wanted to be the one to reach out, and let them know that they’re kid is still here.”

On whether or not LeBron’s decision surprised him: “I can’t say it did. I actually was in Cleveland with LeBron at his skills camp and I was there with him working out and playing. We never try to talk about those things because everybody tries to relax in the offseason. I didn’t get the feeling at the time that he was leaving. I didn’t think it would be Miami of all places and once I heard it was a big shocker to me.”

On where he thought LeBron was going to go: “I really thought it was going to be Cleveland. I thought that would be where he would end up, but Miami had never came on my radar. I heard a lot about New York, I heard a lot about Chicago, but I never really thought he was going to go to Miami.”

On how much of an opportunity he feels like he has now that LeBron is gone: “Oh yeah. Big time. Everybody knows LeBron probably played 80-90 percent of our plays went through him. Whether it was making a pass or making a shot. With him leaving, basically it’s a whole new ballgame and everybody has to create for themselves, step their game up, and take their game to another level if we wanna be competitive in the way the Eastern Conference has got most of all. If we want to be competitive every night, everybody has to step up and I feel like this is a big opportunity for myself to show everyone what I’m capable of doing. That I’m not just a spot up guy or somebody who just stands around shooting threes. I’m capable of doing other things.”

Nice if Boobie developed into the next T-Brandon. Right here is your offseason free agent pickup. We are about to see possible breakout years for Boobie and JJ.

On behalf of the City of Cleveland, I'd like to officially "adopt" Daniel Gibson as one of our own.

He may never win an MVP, but he's someone I'd actually be proud to call a Clevelander, unlike the departed one (an Akronite in his case). Boobie and Mo both show a lot of love and respect for this town, I'd love it if there were a way for both guys to shine (although Smooth makes a good point in the difficulty inherent in that).

Hey, fuck you. :chuckles:

All that needs to be said: I love Boobie.
