Just listening to Jon Barry ramble on during the Spurs / Mavericks game. He came up with a suggestion (an old one) that they should replace the traditional allstar game with a USA / International Alll Star game.

What do you think?

I kinda like it, considering the allstar game is getting a tad boring.

I'm all for it..

Personally, if there is one thing that should be changed, it should be letting China vote.. Shane Battier ahead of some of the better players just because he plays on Yao's team is a joke..

USA vs International is fine with me...

I just wish they would wear their own uniforms instead of the awful All Star jerseys..

I was just thinking the same thing.

Then Stern couldn't generate millions selling those ugly rags every year. We already got him to ditch the composite ball so let's cut him some slack.

No way. I can see the intrigue of wanting to put a Yao and a Dirk together to try to beat a Lebron and Shaq, etc, but Eastern conf vs. West best represents the makeup of the league, and that's what it's about. Not USA vs. the world.

Plus we already have the FIBA team that people can get off on when they want to watch US vs. International competition, and there's already a lack support for that even.

Then there's the injury risk, I don't even want to go there.

Yeah...internet voting is both a MASSIVE publicity tool for the league, and an invitation for repeat cheater votes. I've heard it said a few times that 98% of China's software is illegal copies, so it's not like Chinese fans have any qualms about voting for Yao 50 times. *Finally* the league put in some extra security layers in the online voting last year, and it did help decrease Yao's votes some. But heck, they have over a BILLION people  So yeah, watch Rafter Alston get voted in because he plays on Yao's team :chuckles:

Good on you China. Remember it is the American who repeatedly voted Grant Hill in despite never playing. But hey he drunk Sprite.
