Varejoe a dirty player???

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If AV were in the starting line up we would need a shooter/scorer playing at Point Guard....So we could deal Drew for a better PG and evetually AV should be the starter

If Larry was healthy, Anderson could start right now. He just needs to learn how to play a little bit better defense to avoid the silly fouls he sometimes gets.

But as far as him scoring, we don't need him to score. Z, Larry and Lebron will do that for us perfectly fine. And assuming Drew was traded for a Duhon, than that is another person that can score.

Anderson has a lot of time to worry about scoring because he will and always will be, the fifth option when it comes to scoring.

AV is probably a dirty type player, Sasha a bit too. To me, the dirty types are the guys on the opposing teams you hate, usually foreign players, because they give that extra contact and bump people around while getting away with it. Guys like Nocioni, Tony Parker, Bruce Bowen all bug me like this. I guess AV is the Cavs version.

As for AV starting, he would really need a jump shot before I'd be comfortable with that. Gooden gives us a guy who can score, and its nice having that option out there. There have been many games where Gooden is the only guy who can get things going and he keeps us in the game. I would say his rotations and stuff are as good as AV, just AV has wilder hair so people tend to notice him more. Also, AV tends to give up lots of stupid fouls, this needs to be controlled a bit too if hes going to start, not much of an issue if hes just off the bench.

Dirty... I've caught AV flopping it up a few times, and I don't like it one bit. Take charges, but don't flop... Take contact and fall, but don't flop.

He hustles, and he steals the ball... literally. He doesn't sneak in passing lanes, he straight up rips it from your hands. That's pure gold right there.

av doesn't flop. he is a great defender who is not afraid to get dirty under his finger nails. redd knock him silly after hooking him with that arm of his. he deserved to be rang like a bell with a offensive foul.

but don't insult our most active player by saying that he's a flopper. name calling like that is uncalled for.

It is pretty obvious he is a flopper...there is not much debate in that one.

There's a difference between flopping and acting...

...AV deserves a Golden Globe

Ya, dude, he is. Remember last nights game where Bogut just raised his hands, and AV flopped and fell. Bogut did not even push him or do anything. He was just trying to unfree his hands from AV.

AV=Flopper.

Ha, he may deserve one, yes. But refs catch on to those things if he does it too much. Since he is such a hard nosed, in your face player, he gets the benefit of the doubt. Esp because he forces other players to react to him.

Yeah av got soem nice tricks especially for a young buck but we defintely dont want him to devlope that reputation. However dude is willing to give up his body and he plays great off of pick and rolls, reacts quick and he can shuffle his feet rather quickly.

I have been impressed with his improved defense. Last season everyone called him a good defender because he hustled hard, grabbed boards and some steals. But his man to man defense was rather poor. He was often picking up cheap dumb fouls, a little like sasha when he was pushed into the lineup. However Varejao has become a smarter defender and isn't taking the same risks and the team is being rewarded. Anderson might not get the big numbers, but he is working his way into being a good defender. If this continues he can become more then just a sparkplug, which is what I had him down as just being. I am a little surprised but quite impressed with his defensive development. He is now a player who I can see being a starter at some stage.

i'd make AV a starter if his free throws start hitting the rim :king:
