I run the Port Adelaide fan site www.PortAdelaideProud.com and I am considering switching from jconserv forums to vBulletin forums (depending if jconserv can transfer all data) so I was wondering how much it costs for RCF's to run this forum.

First you have to find a server to host your site. Theres many out there, and varys in prices from 5-20 bucks a month. They all have different services and so make sure you get something that's good for you.

Then you will have to purchase a licence. A leased licence is 89 bucks a year, an owned licence is 160 dollars.

Then you have to install the software yourself.

Either that, or VBulletin can set up your forum for you for an extra 135 dollars.

So yeah, it isn't really cheap. lol

You may be able to find hosting that includes a license for VBulletin as part of your package. I'm sure it's not going to be cheap, but it might be something to check out.

My forum is getting changed to a vBulletin forum very soon, and I was wondering if you could give me some tips on building it into a great website like you have done here at RCF's.

Thanks guys.

The site will never be good when it focussing on a very ghey sport. :chuckles:
