Visiting Cleveland for the NBA Finals

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Was anyone able to buy tickets for games 3 or 4 when they went on sale for Wine and Gold Members today at 9am? It looks like it sold out quick or there was at least a very limited supply. Just curious if anyone was able to get in and what the prices were.

It is going to be interesting to see what tickets start going for on flashseats at 12pm today. From what I have seen, the other sites (stubhub, seatgeek, etc) are not good predictors...you cant really tell until they are released for sale on flashseats.

I had the earlier time slot and they were already gone.

I was on exactly at 9:00 AM EST and there weren't even singles left.

I think the one issue with resale will be people selling them but not really wanting to sell them.

So they'll list them at a crazy number like the "make me move" feature on Zillow. :chuckle:

So that will drive up the floor a bit. I personally think FlashSeats will be in line with StubHub, which are around $440 as the floor. That seems right to me.

Guy from Amazing Tickets was on the radio yesterday, said prices had doubled since the Finals in 97, that whereas the playoffs to date has been mostly Clevelanders in attendance at the Q, the Finals were "an Event" and he had inquiries or orders from all over the country and world.

(I think this is already happening. At game four of the Atlanta series, I looked over and saw Franco Harris sitting about 4 rows back in the next section!)

As I advised earlier, the Finals are not close to the rest of the playoffs. It's the Super Bowl versus the AFC title game. Tickets recently sold on flash seats for $20,000 and $15,000 each for floor seats. I know these are for floor seats, but I have not seen sales close to this high. I advise the visitor not to wait or prices could go up, especially if the Cavs win a game (or two) out west.

If we get close to a clincher game, just come to cleveland...trust me. It will be CRAZY down here- plus, there's a ton to do around downtown and the weather will most likely be awesome. I won't spend all that $ on tickets, but I WILL either go to a watch party, or just hang around downtown. It will be jumping!!

Prices have already started to go down, though. And there are 20+ pages on flash seats right now. I agree that prices might start to go up if we win a game or two on the road, but the lowest prices went down from around $400 yesterday to $340 today as more tickets were listed. The best thing to do is watch them each day, and if they trend upwards after a win to buy them early in the upswing. The exact same thing happened for the home opener (prices were very similar on flash seats) and prices bottomed out the day or two before the game.

I just hate to see people overpay out of fear, but if it's worth it to the OP to have their tickets and risk overpaying then they should buy now.

I posted this in OT as well, but for anyone who's interested...

I work downtown and walk everyday at lunch, so I am pretty well- versed with eateries, etc.

1) Merwin's Wharf - Columbus Ave, sort of in the flats. My fav place in Cleveland on a warm, sunny day. Great bar with tv's (They host watch parties and give 20% off for wearing Cavs gear); outside tables right on the river. Corn hole, fire pit, and good food (though basic).

2) RED steakhouse- pricey, but worth it- excellent and right near E 4th/ the Q. I've seen some players go in there.

3) Sushi 86 and Barrio- both near E 4th/Q on Prospect.

4) Heinen's- go here a few times a week. Excellent salad bar, stir fry's, fruits, etc.

5) RESTORE Juice Bar- Huron Rd right past E 9th. This is brand new, but if you like fresh, cold-pressed juices and smoothies, place is great.

6) B Spot- Best burgers, I think....it's in the Horseshoe Casino

Let me know if anyone wants any more specific info. I'd recommend anyone visiting to just walk around and take a stroll down to Voinovich Park/ E 9th St Pier on a sunny day. Prospect, Euclid, Huron and E. 9th are all very walkable and you'll see a lot.

Go Cavs!!

Good advice. I guess it's up to each person to decide what to risk and it will depend on many factors, but mostly supply and demand. I agree prices went down for the opener, but, this "ain't no opener" )(I never understood the hype for the opener, although I went to it. )

It's the Finals. If prices are down now, then maybe now is a good time to buy? My reply was mainly in response to one suggestion that waiting until right before the game could result in cheap prices. I really don't think this is a good idea, given that it's the Finals.

There is risk both ways. By not buying now out of fear that prices will decrease, the risk is a ticket could skyrocket should the supply dwindle/Cavs win. I've also seen ten pages of flash seats tickets disappear on the day of the playoff game in an hour, so there's that.

If the Cavs win both games in Oakland (I don't think they will, but anything can happen, including injury), I imagine the prices for game four in Cleveland could break records.

Good luck. Should be interesting.

Does anyone know how many seats are in row 9 of section 229? I got 13,14,15,16 and was hoping these are aisle seats. Anywhere to check?

Question for Watch Parties:

I'm going to be in Cleveland not only for the Thursday game, but the Sunday one as well. Do we have any updated information on the watch party at the Q? Is it on sale yet? If not, when?

On my way to the airport, Cleveland or bust for the Keys family. I bought plane pickets months ago for a family wedding and planned to stay through any potential championship parades. That was all back in January, baby.

When would the parade be?

When would the parade be?

If it happens, I have faith the Cleveland city government will put it toge...

...oh shit...
