Visiting the Q (from a land down under)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Thanks @Helium filament, we're flying from Melbourne to LA. And then from LA to Cleveland. That should be okay, I'm assuming?

Thanks @Benway. So my best bet is to take as much footage as possible on my iPhone then I'm assuming? Find it strange how iPhone recording is allowed but they refuse video recorders. I understand the quality difference but still..

Awesome @tristan+kyrie=$ I'll try that most definitely - sounds like a good option.

Update: Just got a follow and a DM from the @Cavs Twitter account asking me to let them know where my seats are and to notify them when I arrive! How can you not love the Internet!? I have my fingers crossed ever so tightly!

OMFG! SO EXCITED FOR YOU! and yeah, I think you should be in the clear weather wise based on your route and when you'll be travelling! Im going to the game Wednesday and not Friday, I wish I was going to be there in case they show you on the jumbotron!

@wuck, thank you sir! Oh don't worry, I'll have the thread loaded with pictures and videos on Friday. Is there an easy way to upload photos to a thread via mobile device? Usually I have to upload to TinyPic or an image hoster and go from there?

Thanks @Helium filament! I hope so. My next concern is getting from CLE to NY on that Saturday give the current conditions. Oh, very nice! I may have to carry some #FromAUStoCLE-based paraphernalia in an attempt to get noticed!

Someone probably mentioned this before (lol didnt read) but you can go down to court level and get autographs by either the home tunnel or visitor tunnel. The best time for this is right when the gates open.

I lost count of the autographs I've been able to get when I get there early.

Awesome @AMC thanks for that. So if the game starts at 7:30pm as it does this Friday, what time would the gates normally open? Want to try to get in as early as possible.

Man I'm so excited for you. Can't wait for the photos and stories.
Have an awesome time, man!

Awesome @ssopata. I might tweet her on Friday as well in the event that the Cavs account don't get back to me. Still a little apprehensive at this point about tweeting others in the organization if I have the Cavs attention but certainly will give her a follow for reference.

Thanks @tocov. Not long to go now, I fly out in 29 hours.. But that means I'll be missing the Cavs and Portland game.. Planning on watching when I land in LA for the 6 hour stopover though!

So it's D-Day! In about 28 hours I'll be touching down in Cleveland, Ohio. Still don't quite believe it as I type it. Not sure what I'll be in for when I land in The Land (see what I did there?) at 8:30pm on Thursday night but I'm certain a good part of it will be pure awe mixed with freezing, cold, numbness. In which case, I've packed plenty of warm goodness in my carry on.

Wish me luck!

I get excited everytime we get back to Cleveland and I get to go to a game. I can't imagine what your level of excitement is! I know you will have a blast. The Cavs put on a great show from beginning to end you will love your trip!

Have a great time. I don't know you, but having incredible fans like yourself is great for this team and this city. Cleveland welcomes you with open arms and hope you have a great time!

I hope they hook Simmy up. Goodies, score board pic, the whole deal.

This is way, way less exciting but I'm trying to get in to Cleveland in March(from the LBC) for my birthday and what would be my first ever game at the Q. Have seen the Cavs in LA several times and then went to the Richfield Coliseum(grew up in Richfield) for a lot of Daugherty-Price/Nance era playoff games. Still have never been to the Q though!

nothing warms my heart more than people embracing the city of Cleveland even though they aren't from there...I fucking love this city and I hate how much the media and people I know bash it...when we finally get our championship its going to be a party that everyone is jealous of

Thanks @RonG! Won't lie, I've been in the bathroom for a good part of this morning, battling nervous excitement lol I really can't wait.

Thanks @Ob1, this city and this team has and always be everything to me. So I'm so glad that I can now finally experience Cleveland like any local would.

I hope they hook Simmy up. Goodies, score board pic, the whole deal.

I super appreciate that @MirORich, that's really nice of you. I have my fingers crossed in hope. Planning on DM'ing the Cavs on Twitter again when I arrive to see what they can do.

Good luck on planning your trip to Cleveland - I'm sure it'll be just as special having experienced the history at the Coliseum and then re-living a brand new Cavs era at The Q after waiting so many years!

I've said it for years @tristan+kyrie=$, and I'll continue to say it for years, I have and always will feel like an adopted Clevelander! I love everything about the city of Cleveland, and it's for that very special reason that I'm able to have such a strong connection to their sports teams. The way I feel for Cleveland is so organic and stems so far back into my childhood, that the city and everything about it has almost been apart of my very fibre since I was old enough to understand anything about the world.

Thanks again everyone!
