Visiting the Q (from a land down under)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think option #1 will work, but if not...

Second suggestion - Do you have a twitter account? If you do, i'd suggest you send a Tweet to @matthewdelly, @cavsdan, @cavs and @cavsahmaad saying that you are coming in from Australia and it's your dream to meet Delly. Post it here and have everyone on RCF ReTweet the hell out of it.

Third Option - Send an email to GreatIdeas@CAVS.com. Up to you, but you could post your email address here and have everyone else send an email too asking them to contact you and arrange for you to meet Delly.

Just a few ideas.

I do have a Twitter account, @Maximus. It's @simmybeats. Have been tweeting Delly for a few days now with no response. Seems Fred and the Cavs account have been paying more attention though! I think I'll tweet Ahmaad, though and post it.

Well the email address I have been using is hello@imagiworks.com.au but I can only receive, not send. A have a T-Mobile sim for my travels. Anyone know what their outgoing sever should be for 3G iPhone connectivity?

I'll probably be using simmymusic@hotmail.com though while I'm over here as that account will still send and receive.

Thanks Max!

Edit: short and sweet:

Holy shit, you have 46K followers. I dont know how that Twitter thing works exactly, but send a tweet to Delly that you want to meet him tomorrow and ask your followers to retweet it or whatever you do to get him to see it too.

Instead of tweeting just Ahmaad, include Gilbert, Cavs, Tad and Delly in the same message. If i understand the twitter machine correctly you'd have 5 people potentially seeing it instead of just Ahmaad. They'd see it more as it gets retweeted by your army of followers. Right?

Yes as long as he puts a . before he tweets at them then his followers will see it

Bummer, I missed Max's first idea to Simmy.

Probably involved turning tricks on the corner anyway.

I had the pleasure of visiting Australia awhile (uh, 20+ years ago....) back. In Sydney for a couple of weeks, then up to Cairns for some diving on the Reef, and white-water rafting. Auzzies are wonderful people, and there is something of a natural affinity between Americans and Auzzies.

Simmy, you may get the sense that a bunch of us are excited for you to be coming here, and it's because those of us who live here know the people of this city, and know that you will be treated right. There are some places in the U.S. that aren't all that friendly to out-of-towners, but Clevelanders usually love it when anyone from outside comes to their city.
With people from Pittsburgh being the exception (know from personal family experience)

In my trip to Sydney, I was standing on a corner in the Kings Cross district, and some older woman drove up and asked me "how much"? Apparently the hooker zone....

Was she hot? What did you charge her?

I was shocked as shit and just kind of mumbled something incoherent, got a nasty look, and she drove off.

She was probably about 50, and decent.

So my transfer driver just tried to charge me $83 for the trip from the airport to The Hyatt Regency. Out the door went his tip..

Went on a brief tour around the city. Honestly feels unrealistic. It's like I've seen this city for so long from such a distance that when I see all these recognizable buildings and/or landmarks, it doesn't quite feel real. And as a man who never gets to see snow, it's freaking beautiful outside.

Trying to settle in the hotel at the moment after a ruthless 24 hour turnaround - very exhausting. Especially with the constant combination of roof fans and police sirens. But I'm sure I'll get used to it :chuckle:

Update: the driver took me by the LBJ banner. So much bigger in real life. Had me stick my head out the sunroof, snowflakes falling, and I took some great shots.

Also.. The hot water doesn't seem to be working here. My partner just showered in what may very well be Lake Erie ice water.

Oh, and @Maximus, that first idea you gave me.. Progress has been made FYI. Will let you know more tomorrow.

Thanks a million!

Did you call the front desk of your hotel about the cold water? You might be able to get a discount on your stay between that and the noise. Or leave the water running on hot for a while in case it just needed some time (happens sometimes lol).

I will certainly call them tomorrow if we get more of the same. Haha oh really? Okay, I'll try leaving the water on in the morning - not too delighted by the thought of freezing before I re-freeze. But after all, what would an authentic Cleveland experience be without a little frost bite :chuckle:?

Big, BIG day tomorrow fellas. Will catch up with you all in the morning with updates from my first morning in Cleveland!
