Re: Cleveland At Philadelphia
Incredible Incredible victory ...so much can be learned from this win, especially on the defensive end. But, first and foremost I want to commend Mike Brown for his best in-game coaching so far in his tenure as our head coach. SO MANY tactical moves to try and keep us fighting in a game where things were goi9ng wrong right and left. He never quit experimenting, mixing and matching different combos and offering numerous different looks to an offensive team that was RED HOT and seemingly not able to do anything wrong. THIS GUY IS THE REAL DEAL HEAD COACH WE'VE BEEN HOPING WE'D LAND !!
Several moves late led to just enough chaos that it gave us a window of opportunity to jump through and get back into this game and eventually win it. Getting our most athletic defender on AI was a must ...and Brown finally made ther call to getting Hughes on him and he was able to contain, if not stop AI ...Hughes was the game MVP, and not too many times can you say that when another player on your team gets a high figure triple double. But, Hughes was the reason that we weren't obliterated early on in the 2nd half. Going with Lebron and Hughes in the backcourt, and pulling Z and moving in Gooden and Marshall in the post , again, was a move I questioned but it made us a little better in controlling the painted area, even though Gooden was in spaz mode and his brain basically shut down fundamentally. He gutted it through and gave us some needed offense inside.
So many things I can touch on, but clearly this was not a masterpiece of defensive execution ..but...a testiment to never quitting and continuing to fight and find ways. That's coaching ...Mike Brown 's GOT IT.....and he's still just learning the ropes.
We've got a gem in Mike Brown.
