obviously it’s a small sample size and there’s no way we shoot 44% from 3 all year but it’s fun.

We have 4 shooters shooting above 50%.

We’ve got some guys who haven’t made one yet then we’ve got guys who are basically hitting every other one they take.

These numbers will calm down a bit. Like Okoro probably won’t shoot 20% all year, and Wade probably won’t shoot 57% from 3 all year.

But this does show that we have the ability to take over games with that shot if we wanted to. This also speaks to how open these shots are due to Mitchell’s gravity.

Think you might be giving him too much credit here.

The Cavs are 1st in 3-point percentage but only 24th in 3-point rate. They don't take many 3's compared to the rest of the league but they hit the ones they take.

This tells me they're taking the 3's that are there and not forcing them. They also have the right guys taking the 3's; Love, Mitchell, Cedi, and LeVert. So far Okoro and Mobley have not been shooting them.

It looks to me like their offense is geared to creating layups and points in the paint and the 3's are coming when the defense collapses and the ball is kicked out.

this number feels fluky, but I'll take it for now.

Yeah I think you are right about pressure on the rim to create looks from 3. I was critical of the team for not kicking out to shooters enough last year. Seems like they have worked on it.

Yeah that number will come down a bit but hopefully we still finish the season top 10.

The best three point shooting team last year was at around 38 percent. I think we are capable of matching that. Especially once Garland comes back.

Our best three point shooter hasn’t even been playing so I would expect our percentage to stay high unless we increase our volume

But the truth is that volume is as important as percentage, sometimes more so. Percentage*volume is the key. That’s what makes Curry and the Warriors great

It 100% is a fluke.

Love is at 50%
Wade 57%
Levert 50%
I Mobley at 100%
Mitchell at 42%
Mitchell is the only guy who's going to shoot anywhere near his current percentage. Now, Garland will come back, and that's going to help, but the rest of them are coming down.

I Mobley isn't going to shoot 100% for for the entire year?

Yeah they need to get the volume up. All 3 games had fewer attempts than the other team.

They don't have to shoot so well if they can get more shots up.

It does say something about the quality of shots they are getting. Love and Donovan have been shooting pretty difficult ones, but the other guys have been pretty open off Mitchell's gravity mostly
