Welcome Deron Williams

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
They are not prepered to play without just LeBron, and you think they will win just like that on B2B without Kyrie, LeBron and K-Love? :D

Not to mention this is south beach

God knows what happens in south beach

Even if you are right, how you came to that conclusion is rather unfair, for an extrapolation of how a group of guys would do together for a whole season based on their performance of one game oversimplifies the reality of what all the factors are that need to be considered when making such a prediction.
I didn’t need the results of yesterday’s game to realize that claim was quite ridiculous. The fact that most of those guys are on the wrong side of 30, Shumpert is injury prone and Derrick Williams can’t carry a team on his own is enough to tell me that.

Remember how people were saying our bench alone could be the 8 seed in the East?

That was quite silly.

Yeah, I said it was ridiculous right away, just based on our personnel. The Miami game should make it obvious to everyone. Not just losing, but looking like a D-league team against an NBA team.

People were making the claim that our 5 off the bench could possibly be good enough as starters to make it as an 8th seed. Not that I'm agreeing, but using this game to validate your point doesn't make sense.

Bogut, Frye, Williams, Williams and Shumpert. First off, that wasn't our starting 5 for the game. Second of all, one of those guys was missing (no Bogut).

And third of all, no one ever factored into saying James Jones, Liggins, and Jefferson making up the anchor of our bench would be a good idea. Because yeah, that unit would be pretty bad.

Actually our key rotational players held their hold in the game. Miami's bench was a million times deeper than our depleted one with us missing 5 key players, because you know, that's bound to happen when you have that many players missing...

I think it's a tough argument. I'd say our fully healthy 5 off the bench would be either Williams/Shumpert/Korver/Frye/Bogut or Williams/Korver/Williams/Frye/Bogut. 4/5 guys weren't at training camp and I do think they'd be talented enough to not be last in the East if they played together for a while. Most importantly, we are not in that scenario and this legitimately could be the best bench in the NBA since maybe the 86 Celtics? I can't think of too many better benches.

Dwill, Shumpert, Korver, Dwill2, and Bogut is better than a few teams starting fives...add RJ and Frye...our bench is excellent... We were started our 13th man and played our 14th man a lot... We have the best 6-12 in the NBA IMO

Guy needs to lose 10-20 pounds. He's was a sneaky good athlete when younger so a lot like Baron Davis he could get away with it but the extra girth look like it's hurting him on lateral movement on defense and also being quick enough to get into the lane.

Probably too late for any significant weight loss to occur by the playoffs but if I was Lebron I'd be all over Deron about his nutrition. Not that hard to lose 10-15 pounds in 2 months without losing muscle mass as long as you have enough protein mixed with lowering the carbs

So true. I've enjoyed watching LeBron play since his arrival in 03 but it's always been a problem for team mates when he sits.

You can't argue the results so I keep my mouth shut but the way the game is played with LeBron does other players no justice when he sits.

He runs the show. In a nut shell stay out of his way and be ready to shoot 3s, rebound and play solid D. It's more to it then that but that's the bulk of what happens.

Miami was the only place that wasn't like this and imo it's not for lack of talent but the fact the team already had success winning pre LeBron Bosh. If he sits the team could just go back to what they were doing before their arrival.

You see lots of teams move up and down the standings during the season. A lot can be integrated into a system over the long haul

I think it was a given that we were getting Old, Fat Deron Williams, who is not the penetrator or defender he once was. I don't think that's changing between now and the playoffs. He might get in better shape over the off season if motivated, but it might not be for us.

He's needed to lose 10-20 pounds since his first year in Brooklyn. It's not happening. This is what he is now.

He signed here to win a ring and showcase himself for that next contract. He'll get his stuff together come playoffs.

In case posters haven't noticed, Dallas has been playing much better since they unloaded Deron and Bogut. Granted they've added Noel, but he's been in the doghouse a little, too.

Williams wasn't the reason Dallas was losing... Tonight like most of the team he sucked though...missed another big wide open 3 and then threw a terrible pass in too traffic
