Welcome Lou Amundson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I never had a reason to read up on Amundson's life before. Thought he might be Swedish or something.

He's really had a "feel good" career. Undrafted. Limited skill set. Joined the D-league. Got a call up to the big league. Did the best he could with the abilities that he had. Stuck around. 8 years later, he's still finding ways to get invited to NBA training camps.

He sounds like a real triumph of hard work and determination in a league where natural gifts often create a culture of spoiled entitlement.

This off season still hasn't hit me. It's going to be glorious.

it is amazing somebody with his skill set has stayed in the league so long. he really works hard and is tough. he used to ride his bike to the suns practices and home games and really fit in with their run and gun style of play

But the Cavs also agreed to a non-guaranteed deal with Lou Amundson, 6-foot-9 forward/center who has played for several teams. He appeared in only 19 games with New Orleans and Chicago last season.

Griffin has long been an Amundson fan. They were together in Phoenix in 2008-10, when Amundson was a bench player who brought rebounding and defense into a game for teams with records of 46-36 and 54-28.

Amundson averaged 4.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in 14 minutes a game in his two seasons with the Suns. He played in 155 of 164 games, so he was a regular member of their rotation. He has been working out with the Cavs for about a week, playing in pickup games with James, Marion, Thompson, Dion Waiters and others at the training facility.

Several Cavs veterans urged Griffin to sign Amundson, who is 31. The Cavs were glad to add him to the roster.

I like the signing. Having glue type of players like him, Marion, Andy, Delly helps to win a lot. It's kinda frustrating play against those type of guys. They just continue to give effort and play hard. That's the reason we liked Andy and Delly so much.

From Lloyd's latest:

Unlike Price and Chris Crawford, a pair of guards who right now appear to be training camp fodder, Amundson is expected to make the team and supply minutes in the post.
