"We're starting to come together"

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Problems is, we will problem close the gap to around 8-9 games then go on a 10 game losing streak.

Welgarz is on a tear. Absolutely crushing the ball in Columbus right now.

Kid could be ready to take LF away from Brantley.

It is nice to see LaPorta and Santana play so well. I think the Indians have reason for optimism offensively in the near future. Choo, Sizemore, LaPorta, Cabrera, and Santana is a good start. I still worry about the young starters in the pipeline. Hopefully, Carrasco can have a far better go of it when he gets called up in September.

LaPorta up to a .267 average last I looked, wasn't this cat below the mendoza line at one point?

Pretty sure he was well below it until they sent him to Columbus.

Getting his confidence back has worked wonders for LaPorta.

We're 13 games out. If we can close the gap to ten next week, and chip away during august and september, maybe we can make a late break.
Yea probably...

Seventeen straight wins against the Rays at home. May as well make it 20 straight.

This thread is one big face palm... :chuckles:

If the pitching was more consistent, I could see the club making a run. But it isn't. Each guy not named Fausto could be headed for a wall here. Westbrook hasn't thrown this many innings in two years. Masterson is in the same boat, with him having already reached his innings total in each of the last two years. Talbot has been smoke and mirrors for a few weeks and last handful of outings have been subpar. Laffey has a sore arm.

Young team so you get inconsistent play and thus inconsistency in record. Thinking this club can climb back into the race as far down as they are is a just a silly expectation and you set yourself up to be disappointed.

I remember we needed to beat them at home in 2005 I believe to make the playoffs. Instead we collapsed. What a brutal end to that season. I remember that White Sox series was incredible before the Rays at home. We definitely choked though.

Our problem isn't coming around.... It is staying where we went around to that is the problem.

But, but, we have Gomez waiting to go again. Laffey was put on the DL. I hope Gomez gets the call up for Sunday. He deserves another start.
