I agree VC is still a top 5 guy in this league and with Mo and Bron. He would get a worse PG and a better SF (NJ had Kidd and Jefferson) so in essence they just switched players for him to work with. He would do well here and get a ton of open looks nightly. The only difference is our point guard has room to grow, and our SF is the best player in the world which Kidd never was. I'm starting to swing the VC way, but i'd still like the defense AK47 brings to us.
Also can we buy out VC's contract if he isn't working out?
There's almost no reason to buy out a contract, unless that player is such a detriment to your team that it's worth the money to just get rid of him.
If you buy out a contract, it doesn't save you any cap room, or come off your books any quicker. So, if we do trade for Carter, we're stuck with him through 2010-2011. 2011-2012 is a partially guaranteed year with a 4 million dollar buyout clause.
The way I see it is we'll wait until the deadline is close, and see if there are any stars that demand a trade. If Joe Johnson (dream come true, been saying for 3 years now he'd be the PERFECT sg next to LeBron), Gerald Wallace, or Jason Richardson are available, I think we'd have to pull the trigger. If not, I think we look for maybe a Carter or a Mike Miller.
