First, I just came back from the game!

My first time this year, and WOW, what an atmosphere.

Second, lets get to the point...

We are a B.E.A.S.T at home.-What does this really mean?

We are 6-2.-What does this really mean?

We have won 5 straight.-What does this really mean.

We keep beating teams by DOUBLE-DIGITS!-What does THIS really mean?

(PS-I am not looking for a "Cause we are good" type of answer!)

It means... Larry Hughes bobble heads are sweet.

It means they are very comfortable at home... They are used to the spots on the floor and the backdrop..

They thrive on the energy that you and the rest of the home crowd provided tonight .. (I hope you left the ghey comments over by the Wiz bench :chuckles: )

The energy generated in that place gets the players going, it ups their defensive intensity, which lead to steals, blocks, and boards that all lead to a run and gun game.. A game we play well...

Cause we are good.

Milwaukee is playing the LA CLippers now (I have the NBA package) - and man, that arena (Clippers) is B O R I N G . The floor is plain, its all quiet, very dead. Brings up the question again....why would LeBron want to jump ship?

I really can't wait to see the Q in full force, come playoff time. That would really be something.

of course, our arena was boring before LeBron

I like this high energy type of play. And I like what I am seeing, BUT...

I do not like that the deffense is still so-so, AND...

I am affraid that we are turning into the last years' Sonics/Suns (All high scoring offense, and no deffense).

I, however hope that down the road, we turn into this years Pistons (High scoring, and still good D).

law i wouldnt say that we are going to be like the sonics. the thing that seperates us from the sonics is that we can play d.

this wizard teams scores a lot of points. on the other hand if we play against a normal scoring team they will score under their average. it all depends on the team you are playing.

i guess im getting used to the fans getting into the game. it just didnt seem like the crowd was that into it.

oh, you got to believe that the way we play at home will get us to the 50 win platue.

I am not saying that this will keep up, but since it is happening, might as well disscuis it, right?

I watched that game as well tonight CHI-CAVS... I must say, I enjoyed every minute of it...

The Clippers murdered them start to finish..... Ahhhhh a Cavs win and a Bucks loss = LePIP is going to sleep well tonight...

I must say, watching that game was a pleasure.. (The Clippers are not the Spurs) I'll accept our blowout loss alot more as a fan over the Bucks blowout loss..

Also, Run, our defense has been pretty solid so far this year... Alot better then both the Suns and the Sonics of a year ago...

We are a B.E.A.S.T at home.-What does this really mean?

It means that if we lose any home games, we would all be very upset. I wonder how long this streak is going to end...

We are 6-2.-What does this really mean?

It means that we are on a good start. I don't want to get ahead of ourselves though, we haven't even finished off the 1st month yet.

We have won 5 straight.-What does this really mean.

It means that team chemistry is finally starting to kick in. Either that, or that the other teams that we have played are just crappy.

We keep beating teams by DOUBLE-DIGITS!-What does THIS really mean?

Our offense has really clicked early, and it all starts off at the defensive end. I think Brown's phlosophy is starting to work, run your offense through defense.

We are 6-2, which means we are winning games we're supposed to win. We have 2 wins against quality teams, Memphis and the Wizards. Seattle is doing terribly, so they dont count. One loss was away at San Antonio, where we played a competitive half early in the season, you can definately tell this team has gotten better since then. The other loss was against Memphis on the road, and really that was a winnable one. Every home game has been cleaned up by the end of the bench, so thats a good sign too.

We'll probably still be a good team at home. Vs the Wiz was the first game that I could tell on TV that the crowd was really getting into things, of course it was the first competitive game at home really. Also, anyone notice that the rims at the Q make a louder clang than the rims elsewhere?

What I want to see is this team becoming a competitive road team. Playing shut down D and such will go a long way in taking out the opposition's crowd.

The Cavs are still working in their perimeter shooting. In the first game, it was basically pull up and chuck it. That worked the first game, but that was the Hornets and at home. For the perimeter shots to be most effective, we need to get the ball inside off penetration or post ups then kick it back out when the defense collapses. This was happening against the Wizards and got some good results.

This basically means that we are going to be as good if not better than many of us predicted. The majority of people here pegged us as a low-50 win team that would get off to a slow start and then turn it up as the season moves on. I had high expectations before the season, and they have exceeded them to this point.

As for winning at home, that was expected (at least from me). This is an "energy" team with Hughes and LBJ. Hell, we won 29 at home last year with a complete collapse (at home and on the road) at the end. We were ridiculous at home last season until the All-Star Break. I see this team protecting their home like the Cavs of the early '90's. I would not be surprised at all if they did something like 34-7 or 35-6 at "The Q." I need to make it down to a game soon. I want to see what the atmosphere is like now that we have something to get really excited about. I don't think that it can happen, but maybe we can make "The Q" rock like the Coliseum did. I've been to World Series games and multiple Browns games and NOTHING was louder than Game 7 against Boston in 1992. That place was a zoo. I couldn't have imagined the Miracle, because my dad told me (he was at all 4 against Washington) that the Boston crowd was nothing compared to the Miracle days.

Basically, to sum it all up, THIS MEANS that we are a legitimate contender in the league. This is not a one-and-done team in the playoffs. Barring major injuries, I see this team at the very least getting out of the first round and giving one of the other top East teams all they can handle in the second round. It's too early to get overly optimistic.

I had us starting slow and winning 55 games. This start means we're better than that. I'm going to give it another week or two before revising up my projection.

The amazing thing about our blowing quality teams out - like Memphis and Washington - is we haven't gelled yet - people are still figuring the system out.

I am affraid that we are turning into the last years' Sonics/Suns (All high scoring offense, and no deffense).

Actually, last year's Sonics were a very good defensive team in addition to their perimeter shooting. This year's Sonics team, without Nate McMillan, really suck at defense and their shooting, like the years before last, could not help them.
