Just think, C.C could pitch game 1 and then Lee game 2 .

oh.. wait.

Neither. Just the agony of watching another team celebrate all the glory, repeated each year in each sport during the playoffs.

it kind of sucks, but im hoping cc and cliff dominate and end up pitching three great games against each other

Besides the W-L record, why do you not like the Acta signing? Im not sure if I like him or hate him, but you haven't given a reason why you hate him.

Oh yes several:
Mesa blowing 1997
Losing in 1995, 1996, 1997,1998.
Up 2-0 and losing in 1999 against Boston
Up 3-1 in 2007 against Boston.
Blowing our handle on the Wild Card in 2005.

You get the point. I care about the Indians as a team more than our former players. Sure it sucks, but at the end of the day, the current players are the most important thing to me.

Which is why it's impossible to root for individuals when it comes to baseball. root for the current roster. We ain't the yankes. The times where players stick with a team their entire career were over a while ago, really starting with Albert Belle.

Why don't you guys just relax and enjoy the world series... Whether you hate the Yankees and want to root against them or just want to see two powerhouse teams go at it, including the defending champs...

Lets give this Acta a chance... I think it's a cheap move, but that's not his fault... He'll get the benefit of the doubt...

Ridiculous. A "cheap move"? Unless it's a Torre type retread, hiring a manager is never a cheap move.

None of it is 'depressing'. Seeing players leave here and continue to be successful isn't a bad thing; in fact, I think it points more to one's own underlying inferiority complex than some sort of problem with a local sports team.

It is frustrating, though. Frustrating that the team couldn't win with Lee and CC here. Frustrating that had CC pitched like this in 2007 the Indians would have been World Series champs. Frustrating that if Lee had pitched like this in 2007, the Indians would have been World Series champs. I understand that salaries play a part in where players end up but that doesn't make it easier to take.

However, I have no problem with these guys succeeding. I look at it this way- the Indians had to have done something right that they were here in the first place and that they played well when here. We could be like the Browns, where players leave the team and end up out of the league, proving how bad of a drafting team they ahve been. Now THAT is depressing, because it confirms that they have been a bad organization for awhile now. But the guys leaving the Tribe and succeeding? Frustrating that they didn't put it together like that here, but not depressing that they continue to do well. I may hate the Yanks but I don't root against CC. Same with Lee, who is with the team I figure will win it.

Either way, it gives me a reason to watch this World Series. Can Lee baffle the AL like he has been the NL? How will either pitcher handle the best lineup they have faced so far this offseason? Will the non-CC/Lee duels be absolute slugfests? Will be a very fun series, and if a fan is turned off solely by the payrolls of the two teams then I have to encourage them to put that aside and realize these are two very talented teams that should put on a fireworks show.

The Common Man needs to get back on his meds. Every thread this guy starts is borderline troll negative.
