I honestly see us going after Mo Williams and Caron Butler this offseason

I know, we need both. But, I was curious which one everyone else thinks we need the most. So, assuming we re-sign all the players from last season, except Marion who has retired, which position do you think we need to prioritize? A back-up point guard, who can not only handle the ball and create for others as well as himself or a small-forward who would be a 3 & D guy?
Think about this...the Cavs have been able to GET PG's(or in their case shooting guards with a PG body)..so that to me is easier for them to secure.
But outside of Lebron, they have hardly ever been able to secure a legid SF to back him up or even start.
They have no one to come in and play significant minutes at that 3 spot. That to me is equally damaging as no real backup at PG.

I think they can do both.

I expect something like a Mo Williams MMLE and then a Haywood contract trade for Wilson chandler and filler, takes care of both and allows for a playmaking backup pg and a 3/D small forward who can play quality minutes and actually have a role

Going into free agency, I expect that Cavs probably want a vet backup PG under 30 who still has a good first step and can hit an open shot in a catch and shoot. That's going to be harder to find. However even though the PG stuff seems more important to me, I don't think you can prioritize those two needs until you see who is available. If a solid wing becomes available with a skill set much better than you'd expect to get in a min salary vet, you'd prioritize that move, even if the backup PG spot seemed more important heading into free agency.

Cavs have a lot more slack in free agency these days now that they get first pick of the min salary vets once the free agency money dries up.

I think a very good option for point guard that the Cavs should explore is Sergio Rodriguez. He has expressed an interest in returning to the NBA. He is one of the best point guards playing in europe. Not sure if he will come for the mini MLE.

If we can't get Mo, Cole is an ok PG option. He isn't exactly ideal, but what can you expect. He's young, is a decent defender, is a decent shooter, and has experience with LeBron, and being a back up. Wouldn't be the worst player we could get for the MLE.

When did Norris cole improve his shooting, he's probably worse or near Delly tier shooting

Biggest need to me is anybody that keep Lebron's minutes 5 minutes lower at least during the regular season, if not more. Wilson Chandler is my guy right now and I'm hoping that can materialize now that we have an established rapport with Denver Management. I think it's important for that second unit to have a guy that can create his own shot and catch and shoot.

He also has a similar defensive skillset to Lebron in that he can guard 1-4. He's just a huge upgrade that I think prolongs Lebron's career and bolsters the second unit offensively and defensively. You could give Lebron a 2 week rest again and we probably still run a train on the opposition provided Kevin Love and Kyrie are good to go.

Chandler and Mo Williams would be one hell of an off season. Second unit would be pretty stacked.

When Kyrie gets injured, having no legitimate backup PG kills us. JR/Shump can fill in just fine at SF.

Agreed.

I can't stress this enough. Our biggest need is backup SF. We are entering the twilight of LBJ's (physical) prime. Getting him rest will extend our championship window.

He shot 35% and 36% with LeBron as a teammate. Delly shot 41% this year. So if you want to be technical, Delly is better.

Cole is not option 1 at PG though, Mo is (at least imo). He just isn't a terrible fall back option if we can't get Mo. In the case that Kyrie misses some time again, we can't go in to a series expecting Delly to play 40 minutes a game.
