this is something i thought id put some thought into and actually type out and post on here....

The yanks will contine to lose year in and year out, they have no team chemistry, look at past champions from the past 3 years, they all had HUGE teamwork and catchy little phrases, they all interacted well with each other.

last year it was the White Sox, and the "Dont Stop Believing" song by Journey.

the year before it was the Red Sox with the self proclaimed "Idiots" that held together strong through a post season that seemed doomed at the begining of the ALCS.

and even the "Rally Monkey" of the Anahiem Angels (even though it was lame) got that team hyped and ready to go out and win.

the yankees dont have any of that, they have no charecter that makes you want to see them win, they are like a bunch of programed robots who cant even do what they are programed to do anymore which is to win. they all seem like a bunch of glum over paid superstars who show little to no emotion when they are on the field.

king george wants to find someone to lay blame on...its his own damn fault for constricting these guys to seem all profesional, the way they all have to cut their hair the same and all that, times have changed georgie...

The yankees didn't win because they had less than adequate starting pitchers. After they sign Zito and Schmidt this offseason, they should no longer have a problem in this area. Wang is a solid pitcher, but his numbers look a lot better than they should have. He's a #3 at best.

I agree a bit about the chemistry, and hopefully removing Sheffield and possibly a-rod will help that. If they were to deal A-Rod for an above average starter(someone like Ervin Santana) they would really only have to make one signing.

they said that when they signed Pavano a few years back (who used to be in the Red Sox system) and then they got Randy Johnson, they still got Mussina, how much more are they gonna do? their fans have been saying "we got A-Rod, its over" then it was "we got johnson, this is our year" then it was "we got the red sox best outfielder, this is our year" it hasnt worked yet. Wang is good, but look, he can only pitch every 5 days, and only pitched once in the plaoffs.

I don't like the Yankees that much, but I can tolerate them a lot more than the "low budget underdog RedSox."

Getting Damon was as much about taking from the Sox, as it was for filling a hole the yankees needed.

Pavano, man, what a loser. Until they can actually get one or two elite pitchers, it's going to be a crapshoot in the playoffs. Especially the 5 game first round, which the favored team wins about 55% of the time.

I think that signing Sheffield instead of Vlad Guerrero was one of the worst decisions that they have made, and it has shown.

we dont have as much money as them, but we can shell out money for players if we want, we just overpay. we got papelbon, who i think they may move to a starter positon, which i think would be a bad choice. Nixon wont be back next year, which is sad because he was always one of my favorites over the years he played. Varitek will hopefully come back strong next year and Manny as well.

manny wants out again... we'll see how that goes...

I was thinking about how A-Rod could possibly go back to Seattle.. ichiro is complaining how he needs help out there and A-Rod would be solid back there. We could get Beltre an average player with a high contract we could take.. and they have some few pitching prospects.. One comes to mind Felix Hernandez.. 19 year old pitcher.. who is gonna be the best in the game.. I dont think seattle will let him go, but there are a few other ones I can't think of their names...

Dodgers and Angels and the Marlins(willis and cabrera!) are possible teams to acquire a-rod... as for the yankees.. Get rid of A-Rod, Johnson, Sheffield, and Wright.. those are keys.. dont excercise moose's option and sign him for cheaper... Bring up our prospect pitcher(sorry cant come up with the name). get schmidt and zito and we will have a good rotation..

Zito, Schmidt, Wang, Pavano/Mussina, Prospect...

Hughes probably isn't ready for 2006, but that's no guarantee. Hamels made it in no time, as did Felix Hernandez and that one stud kid on the D-Rays.

NO way the mariners trade Hernandez, but I think the Angels might entertain the thought of Ervin Santana for A-Rod.

They are stuck with Randy Johnson, and I do think that signing Mussina to a new 3 year 30 millionish deal is a possibility. They HAVE to get either Schmidt or Zito, and hopefully both.

Use a rotation of Zito/Schmidt, Wang, Mussina, Unit, And Wright if you can only get one of the Zito/Schmidt combo. If you sign both ship Wright out, he has some value after a decent second half. Maybe you also attempt to retain Lidle.

I would probably let Sheffield go, and start Melky and move Godzilla or Abreu to first. Retain Bernie if he wants to play again. At the deadline you can always pick up another overpaid bat.

The Yankees are probably going to try to sign some Japanese stud pitcher named Daisuke Matsuzaka as well.
