I don't see any reason the Browns would trade Crowell right now. He's cheap and has been very productive. It would be stupid to part with him.
I don't think we have to worry about that. Just an unfounded wrinkle to the Justin Hunter rumor.

I'm confused with the interest in Crowell since they just drafted Sankey, but it seems he is also butting heads with Wisenhunt. It sounds like the Titans are going through a very Browns season, how sure are we Eric Mangini isn't behind all of this?

Serious though, Hunter has two of the worst QB tandems in the NFL, and neither gets the ball to him on deeper routes. The drops on crossing patterns, especially on third downs, are all on Hunter. Gotta make those or else when your coach calls you out, you take your lumps.

Considering how unimpressed I am with the current receivers, I'd say pull the trigger for a conditional pick no higher than 4th round.

I don't see them signing him if they're close to Crowell.

That guy was thought of going into last year as a possible 1st round pick. He didn't even make it out of training camp.

Jim Wyatt sounds like the kind of guy i'd like to sock in the nuts.

To be fair, you wouldn't exactly expect the head coach to say anything other than that, regardless if the rumors are true or not.

He's not exactly gonna come out & say "oh yeah, we're negotiating with them as we speak" :chuckle:

If the Vikings didn't want him, why the hell should we?

It's not that we didn't want him, its that we only had 1 QB on roster with Teddy hurt and needed a backup, so someone had to get cut. Vikings are fairly deep at WR but I am pissed Rodney was claimed.

Exactly. Doing anything of the nature would completely strip the Titans of any bargaining power if they were in fact looking to deal him.

I'd be totally down to take a flyer on Hunter if he's available at the right price. As others have said, he has all the tools in the world to be a very good WR in the league. We need another WR even after Gordon returns, so why not take a chance on a young guy with loads of potential. If he started to develop and showed promise, then WR wouldn't really be a need going into the draft. He's been in a bad offense, with no QB, and no running game. Obviously he's had his own struggles, but I'll take a 4th or 5th to get a good look at him.

Just remember that the Browns could have drafted 6'5 Kelvin Benjamin with the second first rounder, and right now only 13 players have more receiving yards than Benjamin. But hey, we have a project backup QB who might get some playing time in a few years...

Or when iron man Brian Hoyer inevitably misses a game this year.

Benjamin's been good for a rookie but he's still incredibly raw- he's among the league leaders in dropped passes and he's been directly responsible for multiple interceptions by breaking off routes too soon. Benjamin already being Carolina's #1 option says more about the veteran receivers (Jericho Cotchery and Jason Avant) underwhelming than Benjamin being a legitimate primary option.

If we're going to play the What If game this laughably early the only name Browns fans should cringe when hearing is Sammy Watkins, he's looked just as good as advertised. OBJ has also looked better than Benjamin in his limited snaps, I guess I should be lamenting missing on him in Justin Gilbert's thread as well.

Brandin Cooks might be the #2 receiver in this class behind Watkins, I was just isolating the WR who was on the board when Manziel was drafted since he doesn't look like he will make an impact this year. The drops are an issue, but I would have loved to see this offense with a true #1 WR with size mismatches. Some people have argued that the Browns should make a move for a franchise QB at the top of the 2015 draft... I'm just pointing out the idea that you don't have to keep passing on other needs hoping to find the golden ticket at QB every first round.
