Windhorst Radio Show & Updates

That's your argument?
It's hard to accumulate the stats he did that game and not be putting any effort at all in. He turn the ball over a ton. But he didn't quit. But that will always be the narrative in this city. Nevermind that his supporting cast was terrible that series. It was all LeBron

You realize you've conflated Game 5 and 6 right?

I suggest you watch those games again, and rather than derailing the thread, I'll just leave it at that..

Fine, I'd happily edit my post to "...won't get many votes or none at all." I don't really give a shit. And I'm glad the authority on what has worked for the Cavs (you) has clarified for us that Blatt deserves no (or very little) credit for anything positive the past few months. Good to know. Windhorst has still been a bitter douche lately, sometimes blatantly and sometimes subtly.
Never said I was an authority. Just my opinion. 95% of the time Windy's opinion is wrong on the game. But I don't disagree here. Blatt isn't a great fir here. He was perfect pre-LeBron for rebuilding. But this team is in win-now mode.

So he quit in one game, but decided to play in the other one. Got it. Never mind Mo made Rondo look like Magic Johnson. Or Jamison got destroyed to the point we had Shaq covering KG at times. It was LeBron. Got it.

The fact that Windy cannot comprehend anyone giving Blatt a vote (not even a #1 vote, mind you, but anywhere in the top 3) without there being ulterior motives? I'm sorry, but I find that ridiculous. You can believe that Blatt had zero to do with any of the Cavs top notch success the past 3 months, fine. But is it out-of-this-world unbelievable that one/some voters would give Blatt some credit for the reasons I mentioned in my previous post?

I'm much more annoyed/surprised with Windy's take than I am vehemently defending Blatt here.

I didn't say that you did.. Are you really saying his future actions in Game 6 predicated his actions in Game 5? Wtf kind of sense does that make?

Never mind Mo made Rondo look like Magic Johnson. Or Jamison got destroyed to the point we had Shaq covering KG at times.

Who said nevermind any of that?

You did... as a distraction from LeBron.

It was LeBron. Got it.

Fucking guy quit.. Like I said, you're entitled to your opinion, as is everyone; but c'mon with telling people that a rebounding box score stat from the wrong game is supposed to indicate whether or not someone quit on a previous game.

Brad Stevens is a way better coach than Blatt. Cleveland will have the worst coach going into every potential playoff series unless we end up playing Washington or Toronto in the ECF.
And you know this how? Last I checked Blatt has never coached a NBA team in the playoffs. I for one am more than willing to see how he does starting this Sunday. Mr. Blatt at least deserves that. Anyone who can handle and weave his way through all the issues he had throughout this long 82 games should at the very least have the respect of fans and players and also get the real chance to show all of us what a great coach he MIGHT JUST BE.

Yeah seriously.. Saying he's unprepared or at a major disadvantage is speaking from ignorance..

We'll have to see during the playoffs and based on that we'll know for the later rounds.

Distraction from what? This board NEVER blames any of our playoff failures on LeBron's teammates. I just find it comical. I watched the same series you did. And I saw our bench fail to show up, MB outcoached, Mo getting destroyed, Jamison getting destroyed, etc. You can blame LeBron all you want. He could have played better. But I am not going to give the rest a pass. No way in hell. We lost the Boston series because we were starting 3 players that couldn't defend (Mo, Jamison, and Shaq) and non-existent bench production. And to be fair to Shaq, the man tried. He really did. He was just too old.

Windy can suck so much sometimes that he causes Cavs fans to focus on the failures of past, inferior Cavs teams rather than the fucking awesome team that's right there in front of them now. :chuckle:

So, how many playoff games has Mr Stevens won at the NBA level? For some reason, I believe it is exactly the very same number as David Blatt... none.

Anyways, I find it comical that Brian makes it like a side mention that Blatt won more games in the second half. Completely ignoring that it was not just more, but, the most of any NBA coach for that second half. Kinda convenient not to deal in actual numbers.

Gotta keep up the mantra that things are not ideal in Cleveland. Can't have the coach, money situation, talent, comradery, or anything else be positive when you are trying so hard to float the "Love to LA" nonsense. If everything was good, why would he leave?

I'm sorry but that statement is bullshit. This board was talking about how crappy of a job Dan Gilbert did assembling the team around Lebron for the past four years. Our bench sucked that series, no question. I'd also argue Lebron quit and maybe it was because he knew (thought?) he could not win with that team. But he quit. Not in the sense that he did not play hard, I think he did; but, he was forcing shots that he knew he could not make and turning the ball over like it was his job. Overall, games 5 and 6 were incredibly sloppy play from Lebron.

Yeah, I've not been the biggest Blatt fan in the world. At times he frustrates me to no end. I don't dislike him, I don't want to make it seem like that's the case. But come on, he definitely deserves credit. He started the year off terribly, he was struggling.

But he's made process along the ways. If he was a bad coach, this entire thing would have blown up in our faces. He definitely deserves some credit. He doesn't get much, which is understandable, but he's done a solid job.

I like him a lot more than Mike Brown.

We can agree to disagree on the quitting. But either way, the drama from it took all the heat off guys like Mo, Jamison, and our bench. So people can look back on that series and put it all on LeBron. But I put the bulk of it on Mo and Jamison. I think a lot of Cleveland fans have a weird complex when it comes to the media hype with LeBron. They want him here, but at the same time they resent him for all the attention he gets over the rest of the team. Which is fine. I get it. But these same people will go out of their way to put our problems on LeBron, and prop up his teammates and coach with undeserved credit. Or in the first LeBron era, simply forget about his teammates failures. I travel a lot, and only on this board and in Northern Ohio do people actually believe he wasn't playing with hot garbage his first 7 years in Cleveland.

Oh good, you're back, trying to convince everyone that a pro sports head coach has no value. Truly the most asinine take I've ever seen on this board, especially with you working so hard to defend said take from all comers. And the cherry is you informing the board that you "travel alot".. lolz. I suppose no one else here travels, so we all bow to your worldly nature.
