This is a big discussion on the Really Big Show today. There is a small story in the Plain Dealer that was saying that the Patriots could hire Bernie Kosar in some way. Rizzo has also said that the Bengals have contacted him as well.

So my question is, would be mad as a fan if Bernie goes to another organization? Do you think he has a lot to offer to a orginazion?

Thoughts?

No. Babette drained him. He needs the money....who can be mad at him for taking a job? Not like the Browns have offered him one.

That report is from the Boston Globe and he has been trying to get in it for a couple of weeks. I personally have no problem that he is trying to get into the coaching aspect of the game and think he could do well at it. I guess having Tom Brady could also help a little for him.

Kosar working for Bill Belichick? Wow, they must have kissed and made up.

Bernie played for the Cowboys and Dolphins--- it's not like he was only a Brown and it's not like he's going to work for the Steelers...

I'd be happy for him to be getting his foot in the door of such a great organization. The people that are getting upset over this are probably also still mad at Ozzie Newsome for being so successful in Baltimore. Bernie wouldn't be pulling a LeBron on us by working for the Pats.

If the Browns had offered him the exact same or similar position for the same amount of money, and he went elsewhere, I might be a little mad. At least a little confused.

But if he wants to get into coaching and the Browns aren't offering him, he's certainly welcome to go wherever. Well, maybe not Baltimore. And maybe not Pittsburgh. He's too Orange and Brown to do so. But good luck to Bernie if it works out.

He was a pretty smart QB, I don't see why he couldn't be a QB coach or something like it...

I wouldn't be mad at Bernie at all. Dude needs some cash and to get his foot in the door at the NFL level. I think he'd be a good O-Coordinator some day.

Learner has the money and Holmgren has the IQ. Why can't those two FIND A DAMN POSITION for him? That's the question. I wouldn't be mad at Bernie at all but that's not the issue. I would be mad at Holmgren for not finding something. Creating something even. Of course Kosar could help a team, so why not the Browns? The guy is damn smart about football. Always has been.

This would be a huge disappointment if he went to coach elsewhere, anywhere. If other teams are interested, why the hell not the Browns? He wants to get back into football. I'm damn sure he would be willing to do most anything for the Browns if we allowed him to do so. We know money isn't an issue, so why not? This story is disturbing to me.

I get that Holmgren wants to do things his way and I get that we have the overall new structure in place. What I don't get is why the Browns don't seem to want to try to create a position for Kosar. Any position.

Not sure why we've never looked into him coaching any of our young QBs. When sober the guy really seems to know his shit.

I'll be mad at the Brown's organization if he goes out and is successful like Ozzie Newsome. There's no reason for our people to go somewhere else and be successful, it just shows a lack of foresight on the ownerships part.

It's be kinda awesome to have Bernie as the OC because we all know he wouldn't be calling the shots, but could give a lot of insight.
