And someone's going to have to explain to me how last spring's Hawks run to the ECF carried over to 21-22.

Playoff experience right?

Why does there have to be something to learn? We’re not the ones who will be tasked with getting better whenever the team falls short.

We’re fans. Have some fun. Tonight was fun and I want to see as much of it as possible even if that ends in a first round sweep.

Pump it into my veins.

However, it’s become clear that many of you don’t feel the same way. So, I’ll let it go. If the adrenaline of tonight’s game didn’t get you, me standing on my soap box definitely won’t.

Who broke Derek?

I’m good. Just enjoying the ride and agreeing to stop bothering people alone with my wild takes.
My issue with all this is, if next season the Cavs start off hot and dwindle again, will fans want playoff experience then or tank again? This won’t be a one time thing, IMO.

Koby still going to pick the player and JBB is still going to be the coach. Adding another young player who barely gets playing time won’t help the Cavs.

Honestly, from a purely selfish perspective I feel like being able to speculate on this forum for months about who we will draft in the first round will end up being more fun for me as a fan than watching us get demolished in the first round and reading endless bitter rants from @InBoobieWeTrust and others about how awful JBB’s coaching is while it’s happening :chuckle:

How other fans act has no bearing on me. The team is trying to win and that’s all that matters to me.

Getting a taste of playoff basketball is not the same as getting rolled by a contender. Pick + more drive is more valuable. The main silver lining of a playoff appearance is we might see a coaching change but thats too low probability for it to be worth it
I'm not accepting the assumption we get smoked by the Heat. Until I see what kind of team we have when Jarrett, Evan, Mark, Caris, and Darius are on the floor together, I am holding out some hope. Pretty sure we have yet to suit up all 5 of these guys for a game yet this season.

I dont believe we have, at least not with a settled LeVert. I am willing to wait for next season tho if we can run it with training camp and another offseason of development.

If tanking becomes optimal next season, then we should do that too. The timeline reset as soon as we picked Mobley. No need to rush things.

Looks like the draft pick. Milwaukee needs to win tomorrow to clinch the 2nd seed. The Cavs will most likely end up 10th and have to win two games on the road against Charlotte and the loser of Brooklyn/Atlanta.

Still no estimate of when Allen could play so I assume he won't be back. In that case I'd say our chances of surviving the play-in are about 20%.

We are 2-8 in our last 10 and it’s been almost a month since we won two in a row against anybody, but you think we have a 20% chance of beating both Charlotte and Brooklyn/Atlanta when they are playing with full intensity? I’d put it lower than that

About 10% chance if we fall to 9/10. But better than 50:50 if we're 7/8. And I like our chances tomorrow, if Jarrett returns to the lineup.

I can't believe people are still hoping that Allen returns.

If we get the pick who in this draft fits Cavz needs the best? The kid from Ohio State:Branham or another rim protector in Mark Williams?

Not sure the 8th seed gets them to 50/50 to make the playoffs. In that case they likely face the Nets on the road and then likely the Hawks although that game would at least be at home. They would probably be decent sized under dogs against both teams. The refs are going to be giving KD and Trae every benefit of the doubt and not sure a JBB coached team would be able to overcome it. Kinda crazy that a KD team is even in the play in but here we are.
