Jinder still walking around with that strap is a travesty
Sad that the WWE Title hasn't even been the top feud on Smackdown since Styles lost it at the Rumble, and they botched the Wyatt run.
I tried to be open minded about the whole Jinder push, but man... he just flat out sucks. Even his "good" matches are boring because of the pace he works at. Worst of all, every one of his PPV title matches ends the same fucking way. Singh brothers (or Khali) distract opponent, opponent beats the shit out of them, Jinder hits his finisher and gets the dirty win. Rinse and repeat.
I get that heels aren't supposed to win clean most of the time, but for anyone to take him even remotely seriously he needs to win a big match clean.
Couldn't agree more... having Wyatt lose the belt to Orton after a month, only for Orton to lose it to Jinder is such a Vince McMahon thing to do.
The Roman & Cena promo felt real last night lol. So many digs from the IWC were thrown in.
Girlfriend bought me Wrestlemania tickets. Definitely plan on checking out ROH. Probably want to go to one more, anyone suggest one other company?
Yeah I watched the first two seasons and watched New Japan. I meant the companies that usually have shows that weekend. I know New Japan won't have Wrestlemania weekend shows due to them not wanting to look insuperior to WWELucha Underground is the best wrestling show on television right now. I think the first two seasons are on Netflix. The show itself is on El Rey, although I typically just download episodes since Sling only keeps new episodes up for a couple of days and sometimes I miss them.
It reminds me a lot of the Attitude Era mixed with Mexican wrestling. The storylines are typically more adult in nature and big matches have a tendency to feature the kind of blood and violence that WWE shies away from these days. Just keep in mind that this is not a typical wrestling show, but rather a show about a wrestling promotion. What this means is that the show kind of exists in its own universe, and there's a lot of crazy stuff that happens in the backstage segments. It also means that they can actually kill off characters from time to time, which is fun. It also means that the backstage cameras don't exist within the confines of the show. Backstage segments are shot like actual TV dramas where the characters don't know the camera is there, and the announcers out by the ring don't see the things that we see when they cut to the back.
Dario Cueto is also the best non-wrestling character on any wrestling show. He's the guy who runs the promotion on screen, and they hired an actual actor to play the part, which goes a long way toward anchoring a lot of the backstage segments, as he can carry the wrestlers (some of whom are fine actors, some of whom are not) through scenes.
New Japan is also great, although I just don't have the time to follow it in-depth. I rarely even watch Raw or Smackdown any more. I'm mostly just on an NXT/Lucha Underground kick right now, along with WWE PPVs.
