WWE/TNA/Etc Spoiler Thread

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

There is a growing sentiment that Punk will be on Raw tonight. A couple of the dirtsheets have heard from people in the WWE that he will be there, and Dave Meltzer said the same thing on his podcast. If he's back, then he has to be added to the title match at Wrestlemania. As much as I want to see Daniel Bryan win the title at Mania, I can't see any other match for CM Punk.

Back to the original plans...Punk vs HHH (then Bryan gets his rightful place in the title match)

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

I don't watch Raw religiously, but I will tonight. The pop he would get would register on the Richter scale.

I guess they could do that, but I think the WWE would need to dangle a pretty hefty carrot for Punk to come back. I don't think a match against HHH would be enough. But I'm also not CM Punk, so what do I know?

It seems unlikely to me they would give Punk a title run when his contract still expires in July, so I don't see the point in having him in the title match at Wrestlemania unless he re-signs before then. Neither Batista nor Orton can realistically walk out of Wrestlemania as champ at this point.

Punk NEVER comes back to get the same thing. If he comes back, he's winning the title at Mania.

Not without a new contract he isn't.

I honestly think Bryan-HHH should still be the plan with the stipulation that Bryan gets a clean shot at the title with a win. I never thought Punk-HHH made much sense anyway, as HHH has been holding Bryan back since Summerslam. It's a match/feud a half year in the making, and for storyline purposes should still happen. Put Punk in with Batista and Orton, and even if Punk wins his contract doesn't expire until July. Plenty of time for Bryan to take it off of him.

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

He isn't signing the contract unless he's getting something big. He doesn't care about money. He doesn't care about the fans. He isn't coming back for a match that he already deemed as not up to snuff. Guy wants to ME Mania. He's going to if he comes back.

If Punk does indeed return tonight, I hope they do some crazy storyline where he hijacks Raw. Maybe not even have Punk there but have Triple H keep an open challenge for whoever is screwing around with Raw for Wrestlemania and have that be Punk. Or something more creative. Either way, they have this whole angle to play with and better not waste it.

If Vince actually convinced Punk to return, they absolutely must have him on the show tonight. It's in Chicago, so the crowd will hijack Raw themselves if he's not there, especially if they have reason to believe he will be..

Well, with Punk not back & Batista pretty much a heel now, you'd think they'd have to find a way to get Daniel Bryan into that main event, no?

1.) They're not gonna go heel vs heel
2.) Can you imagine if they add a different face other than Bryan into that match? The fans would effectively make it heel vs heel vs heel.
3.) The only guy the fans' might have accepted being added, other than Bryan, is Punk.

I'd be interested to see something like Bryan vs. Triple H with the stipulation that if he wins, he gets to compete in the main event against Orton and Batista.

Bryan has pulled double-duty before. But could you imagine if he did at WM and put up two incredible matches? My God...

Would be reminiscent of Bret Hart at WrestleMania 10..

Faced Owen in the opening match (lost), then fought & beat Yokozuna to become Champ in the main event.

Why would they do that when he pretty much said he'd retire after that happens?

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

Seems like every 10th anniversary WM is getting worse. This card looks awful and bc the lack of compelling characters, no way to build it up.

Side note: Its pretty clear Sting will work w wwe. Its been too quiet for weeks.

Sting recently did an interview in England saying he wants Taker at mania.

He'll pin Orton so that Batista can say he didn't really lose and got screwed because of HHH letting Bryan into the match so that Bryan and Batista can feud over the title after Mania.

I was thinking the opposite. He pins Batista and Orton will say he never really should have lost the title because he never lost to Bryan. Another scenario I was thinking is he pins one of them and HHH/Steph comes out pissed saying the match is now elimination style.
