Absolutely, and it is getting rave reviews.

I would highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys good squad based games. It kind of reminds me of Starcraft, but slightly different.
 
Would you recommend it to an old final fantasy tactics nerd? I've never played star craft or the original X com, but I was in love with FF tactics, Front Mission 3, etc.

I would say definitely give it a try. Its very similar to FF Tactics. I would say try the demo and find out if you like the gameplay
 
I loved the original back in my youth, one of the best games ever made. This one is basically an homage to that one, and I'm addicted to it.
