Put me in the "not overly impressed" with Austin Jackson camp as well.
I know he's young for his classification and should continue to develop, but 236 strikeouts to only 96 walks with only 13 home runs the last two years....
I just don't see him being all that different from Michael Brantley, who I really don't think is all that good either.
Maybe he will develop power and plate discipline as he gets older, but he's been trending the opposite direction the last three years. Showing less power and a worse K/BB ratio every classification he's gone to.
Age. Thats all that needs to be said about those two. They were the 2 youngest players to be in the top 100 in PAs (317 or more) this year in the International League. No one else qualified as an age-22 season. There were only a handful of players to hit AAA at age 22. In the majors last year, 14 guys age 23 or younger got 200 PAs, a number both guys have a very good chance of getting. Being able to hold their own against older players is very important to remember.
