Z showing he's a professional player and professional human being.

On a recent cameo by Dan Gilbert on the TV Broadcast with Fred and AC he was speaking of the roster and said that he wanted players to be identified not simply as a shooting guard or forward or as a teammate of Lebron, but as a 'Cleveland Cavalier'. This, I believe, was in response to a question put forward about Antwan right after we traded for him - and it was in light of knowing Antwan as a person.

Even when Z's playing days are over, what a wonderful asset he would be to the Cleveland Cavalier organization to maintain Dan Gilbert's desire of the basketball team/organization in Cleveland to be identified as an organization made up of people/players that are of a certain stature and quality in terms of character - not simply of a part of the NBA or a grouping of millionaire athletes and businessmen.

The NBA could use more quality individuals like Z's, Mike Brown's, Danny Ferry's, and Dan Gilbert's - and even not just in positions of higher influence or exposure but even in all aspects of the NBA and professional sports for that matter. Setting a standard of high/respectable character for all members of such a public organization/league is good not just for those in it, but also for those (by the millions/billions) people who are exposed to it in various forms of media and actual events.

That was hilarious. Maybe I missed it, but that was the first time I've heard the reason he picked the number was for Andy, seemingly as a joke. And he was totally considering signing somewhere else ...
