Over the next three seasons in football. 5 total, not 5 each year. So more likely 2-2-1 over the next three.

Also, the Dispatch is claiming OSU will be given Failure to Moniter, so a bowl ban would be within precedent if the NCAA so chooses.

Here is how the too much payment for summer work was discovered (per BSB)

"More specifically, in reference to an issue discussed during an interview with (REDACTED, BUT CLEARLY TERRELLE PRYOR) prior to the hearing, the Enforcement Staff requested (PRYOR's) bank records. Upon receipt of these records, a check dated February 19, 2010, to (PRYOR) for the amount of $200 from Independence Excavating was discovered. This check was deposited by (PRYOR) in his checking account. Shortly thereafter, (PRYOR LEFT OSU) and refused interview requests from OSU and the NCAA. He was never questioned about his employment at Independence Excavating and was subsequently disassociated from the University for his failure to interview.

"As a result of this check deposited by (PRYOR), other student-athletes’ bank records were reviewed, and questions were asked in all subsequent interviews with student-athletes about possible employment at Independence Excavating or any of its affiliated companies."

They're saying the ruling should come out by Dec. 10 at the latest.

Big 10 Championship game is December 3rd. I wonder if they care about the B10 Rule or not the a team with a bowl ban can't play in the game. Looks like our success over the next 3 weeks could speed up when the ruling comes out. Disappointing.

I just feel that if OSU felt/knew a bowl ban was coming, they would have self-imposed one. Not saying it still isn't possible, but I'll believe a bowl ban when I see it.

This punishment is relatively minor, all things considered with the addition of the findings regarding Bobby D.

If there's a bowl ban, fuck me in the ass.

I honestly wouldn't even care too much about a Bowl ban if it didn't block us from playing in the Big 10 Championship Game, but now that we are in the hunt I really want to be a part of that first ever Big 10 Championship game.

Big plans to go to the Alamo Bowl this year? (If they're lucky)

(Patiently waits for someone to make a Jerry Sandusky joke about fucking in the ass)

I'll worry about that when they win out, which I'm not convinced they will do.

Quite frankly, if OSU gets the sense one could be handed down, I wouldn't care if they self-imposed a ban this season. If they don't and end up getting one next year, then I would probably off myself.

I'll take a shot at a national title next year with the possibility of Urban Meyer at the helm over playing in the first B1G Title Game.

I didn't even think about that. You think it may only be for one season, and we could get it out of the way right now? :D

That would work for me. By all means, NCAA, do this. :)

I'd be surprised if they banned them at all. Much like NorthCoast, I think they would have headed it off by self-imposing one.

While there is precedent, OSU has been forthcoming with them every step of the way.

USC got hit with Lack of Institutional Control which is far worse than Failure to Monitor, and only was banned from 2 bowl games.

Has any other school been hit with this charge only, and not the lack of institutional control, and if so, what was their punishment?

And yea, if they get the one year bowl ban, hopefully it's this year.

Bowl ban???

FUCK. NOT THE CAPITAL ONE BOWL.
