Game #70 | Boston Celtics @ Cleveland Cavaliers | March 27, 2013 | 7:00 PM ET

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I deleted some personal attacks. I don't feel like deleting more. I recognize that a game like tonight will prompt venting, but it doesn't have to be about other RCF posters.

Name all of these good coaches that didn't get fired. I don't even like Byron, but your logic here is beyond flawed.

He knows its flawed. He's just going into Troll mode, which he does from time to time.

I almost went to this game last minute... then it hit me that I wouldn't see Kyrie, Dion, KG or Rondo... :chuckles:

turned out to be a good decision

I also love how the mods have become so lackadaisical that they don't even care anymore that these threads are being filled with tanking talk. Shame, really. Shame. The atmosphere is being poisoned.

Both points are idiotic. The mods are not lackadaisical, and tanking talk is not prohibited from game threads. We are talking about a team that can't even win 1 out of every three games they play. If tanking battles get out of control, we'll step in. That has not happened. There are much fiercer arguments about Byron Scott's competence than about tanking.

Mods are also not too lackadaisical to ban people temporarily...

I think its pretty clear Byron Scott is mediocre at best. Embarrassing to give up a layup in that situation.

Tell me, do you consider a coach to be good if they are fired or retire? Quite frankly, if you are fired, no matter the reason, you suck. Plain and simple. You don't get fired for being good. :chuckles:

Coaches get fired all the time just as scapegoats. Two teams fired George Karl in his early career. Is he not a good coach?

For the record, I do not support Byron Scott and have been on record saying that he will cause problems in the future when we're in the playoffs. Just having fun poking holes in your "logic". :chuckles:

No atmosphere is getting "poisoned". 99% of the tank supporters are rooting for the tank this season with full hope and expectation that this team makes the playoffs next year.

The fact that you are so short-sighted that you'd rather see meaningless wins NOW instead of do every single thing that could even possibly help the Cavs in the long term is your problem. Sure, we might not get the best pick possible even with the tank...but I'm willing to suffer in the short term for even an extra tenth of a percent chance to benefit my favorite team in the long run. It's worth it.

Phil Jackson.

A man who had multiple top ten players of all time to play for him. Jordan Pippen Shaq Kobe... woahhhh crazy his teams played well.

Hell, even if we only confine it to the NBA, which his statement did not, there are TONS of great coaches who have been fired.

I give you the guy on the other side tonight, Doc Rivers.

I dont love Byron or anything, but it's also unfair to judge him based on performances by arguably the worst acrive talent in the league.

This. I don't really even care for the whole "tank" concept but this season is done. Get a high draft pick, add more talent and make our way into the playoffs next year.

And I do think we make the playoffs. And I think we make it above the 8th seed; the east is bad and we are young, talented and adding more talent.

I think we all can agree there have been a lot of really good coaches fired. Byron Scott is not one of them.
