2014 NBA Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I actually thought that the Knicks id really well

Yeah. #1, getting back into the draft by getting rid of your trash.... then pulling who you did (granted Cavs did help). Knicks looked more than competent

One of the things I enjoyed was early on when Simmons was doing one of his several Cavs pile ons and spoke of not trusting that the Cavs could do the right thing with their pick. Simmons said something about not trusting David Griffin, but Bilas interrupted him and emphatically said that he trusts David Griffin. Simmons is much more of a Boston homer, amateur hack in many regards. Bilas isn't the basketball guy I respect the most, but hearing one of the pros who cover the game get Griffin's back shows the respect there is for him. I've read that in many places, about how well regarded he is around the league.

Based on what he did last night, I'm quite happy with Griff. He clearly had a board tilted toward the Cavs' philosophy and needs. He stuck to it, didn't panic for a player, and then traded back into the 2nd to get a center prospect while also taking on a cheap contract that balloons into a massive non-guaranteed contract next year that can be used in trades now or in the future. That was a fine example of using our cap space to help another team, get a prospect, and get a potential trading chip for the future. Savvy move.

That was happening all night and it was hilarious. I loved when he just got straight up ignored by the other guys. He would say something and the other guys would just completely move on to a different subject, not even addressing what he said. I would love to see a montage of it.

Man, I'm still in disbelief the last month of Cavs news has happened. Exciting new coach that isn't a retread, surprised with the #1 pick, using that pick to get one of the most touted prospects over the last few years, and in general a draft without controversy.

This after a year of the Bynum/Mike Brown/Hey Let's Try To Get LeBum Back Moves/Kyrie v. Dion debacle.

For the first time since Kyrie was drafted I feel positive going forward. Cavs may not score that big time free agent (or any at all), but they may not have to. For once the Cavs did things reflective of a team with direction, not trying to recapture what was lost blindly.

This could all crash and burn, but they're doing what needs to be done. FINALLY!

Hurry up fall 2014.

EDIT: FUCK BILL SIMMONS IN THE GOAT ASS.

Just think if they succeed, it's all because of being built from the ground up.. through the draft.. getting assets..

Of course, if some big name FA signs then it's MOSTLY through the draft

I meant to comment last night but went to um Arby's.

People were all over a Lebron Tweet about Napier. Well I make the painful experience of reading ESPN sometimes. And they reported 4 days ago that the Heat wanted Napier. And every comment laughed at the idea that drafting Napier would have any affect on Lebron (as the comment suggested). So No, Lebron wasn't talking to them, yes he likes Napier, but ESPN knew that 4 days ago. That they'd draft him cuz Lebron likes him.

Non-story that he said it I could've told you he would wherever the guy went.

We need all our recent draft picks to become better defenders. Keep eyes on Sergey too. He seems like the type of guy Blatt will give a lot of mintues just because he can shoot

Did he (he must've) play as a starter for Blatt for Russia? Blatt has to know him??

I used to appreciate Simmons' humor and writing, but he has gotten so bad at hiding his biases that he's now like listening to someone run their fingernails down a chalkboard.

Nowadays, what he needs more than anything is a swirly - preferably a chocolate swirly.

I like you, Dr. Claw.

He played a total of 6 minutes in 2 games during the Olympics.

Well damn, how many years ago was that?

I don't know why I like Sergey, he didnt earn much PT last year but I just feel his skillset could've really helped us and Mike Brown pretty much wastes rookies.
