I thought that was Greg Anthony. As Kenny Smith would say, LETS GO HOE!

JR doesn't like Cleveland's nightlife. Nothing to do here but play video games and order pizza
He's made 14 threes in 5 games. Yes, he's chucked up like a chucker par excellence, but he's hit enough to have defenses respect him. Marion has hit 12 all year and Dion hit 22 in 33 games.
Update--in 7 games , he's now made 20 threes in 7 games.
Marion has made 12 in 37 games.
Waiters made 22 in 33 games.
Miller has made 25 in 29 games.
JR "Knucklehead pipe layer" Smith, 20 in 7 games, a pace that would yield 234 in an 82 game season, 7th most in NBA history.
Sooner or later there will be a dry spell of no step-back fadeaway threes, but I'm enjoying this.

I don't agree. He has really only contributed by scoring in 4 of 7 games. In 3 games he didn't hit a three, in those games he averaged only about 7.6 shots a game. In the 4 games he has hit a 3, he has averaged 16.5 shots,
My point is when his shot is not falling, he doesn't shoot as much. He cuts himself off, atleast on this team, ie a perceived contender.
What is interesting, for a "bad" defender he has gotten a steal in every game. In fact, in one game he didn't hit a 3, he did get 4 dimes and 3 steals. Staying engaged and contributing in other ways.
Lets hope smoty Jr stays and not NYK Jr.
The former is more likely. The Knicks are such a trainwreck this year with a massive void in leadership. I loved the clip they showed of JR where he talked about how LeBron came to him. LBJ showed leadership and Smith responded. He's a mess on a dysfunctional team because he needs someone to look to and respect. Melo might be a great player, but dude is a stat stuffer and not a leader. Kyrie and LBJ both exude strong leadership qualities and have stepped up. Smith responds to that and shows he's far more than just a chucker. He will chuck that ball when it's going in - and we'll love him for doing it. JR will come off the bench in the future and be a dagger in heart of the Cavs' opponents on some nights. But he was always good at backing off when he was on teams with direction and his shot wasn't falling.
He doesn't do it every night, but we're going to see several games where teams will be wishing we put LBJ back in as a sub for Smith because he is scorching them. Hopefully it continues that he pulls back when he's not hot, but facilitates and brings effort on D.
We've got a long way to go, but it's hard not to be encouraged by 2 of the 3 assets we've received in trade. And it's pretty sweet just seeing Shumpert on the bunch with his hair right now too. Anybody else want to trade for Noel just so we can get ownership of another high top fade?
Would work. Though I think trading any player to the Knicks or Sixers (unless those players are immediately cut by either team) would be considered "cruel or unusual punishment" under the US Constitution and could be thrown out by the Supreme Court.Miller and Harris for Noel? Why not...

What is interesting, for a "bad" defender he has gotten a steal and a rebound in every game. Further, the only game he didnt get an assist was his first game where he was thrown in there with no practice.
