Where would Kyrie be if lebron hadnt returned? I know you guys are so quick to take credit....but its not really fair. Especially with how awful this team looked to start the year when kyrie wasnt buying in.
Personally, we are lucky as fuck james returned. Jmo.
Right where he is now. People can give LeBron a large credit for how much better we are as a team. And sure, maybe LeBron helped Kyrie grow up a little more, but he doesn't get much, if any credit at all for how well Kyrie has become as a basketball player. Zero!!
Kyrie basically picked up right where he left off after his second season.
Kyrie doesn't need anyone to make him better. People literally forget what a tear he was on his first 2 years in the league. Sure, he was flawed, didn't play a lick of defense, but his offensive skill set has never been something anyone with eyes have ever questioned.
The guy was MVP this summer in the FIBA games. He was going to go on a tear no matter what this season.
Mike Brown was the worst hire in the franchise' history. That's not me saying Mike is that bad of a coach, but to think this team needed him at the helm for the team we had, and progress would be made was absolutely laughable.
A player can only go so far with the talent they have. Kyrie not only had a young team, bad coaches, but he lacked a lot in talent around him too.
LeBron James has Kyrie Irving, it's not like he came back to play with Dion Waiters, and the other corpses that once resembled our roster.
I am not sure why Kyrie get's so much flack for not winning his first three seasons. Look at the roster, Dion Waiters/Tristan Thompson your second best players? Luol Deng that was completely disinterested. Starting players like Alonzo Gee and Clark that don't even belong in this league. Hell, when Andy was at least healthy, you'd see this team at least hovering around .500 for awhile, until he went down with his typical season ending injuries. You're supposed to be good with that shitfest of a team though?
Sure, if LB was in his place the team would have been better, but that shouldn't be seen as a criticism to Kyrie, for not holding the standards of one of the greatest of all time. But if LB was given that same team, trust me, we'd be no where even close to a contending team. We'd be one of the bottom feeding playoff teams, that would be lucky to get out of the first round.
