Perhaps I'mbeating a dead horse at this point, but I keep reading posts that claim Felder plays within a role and can be the backup point guard this upcoming season. I just don't see evidence of that possibility.
After 6 games, Felder is averaging 3.7 assists a game. He is also averaging 2.17 turnovers per game. I've heard claims that the other players aren't able to score, which hurts his assist numbers. What I see is passes that don't set teammates up for shots. They just bail Felder out of failed drives. Felder started the summer as the point guard, but by the third game he and McRae switched off initiating the offense. Now he is a scoring guard off the bench.
His defense has been a pleasant surprise for me this summer, but when Ty Lue and David Griffin are both saying he needs a year of polish in interviews, it's time to honestly assess where he needs to improve.
