My mutt, which is probably some kind of hound, runs with me in these sub-zero PA wind chills. She flips her shit for 10k. Loves it.
I had icicles on my eyebrows and my eyes were freezing together the last couple days when the tears would run down.
I’ve tried a couple different types of coverings for her to wear and she literally won’t move before we start running. She digs her heels in until I take them off and then she’ll get going.
I stopped bothering with them. I mean...I’m comfortable running with some bare skin out once I get going, so I suppose she’s probably ok. Who the fuck knows. Is there any need for this or should I just let her go? I’ve read on some sites dogs should be covered up and then on others it’s unnecessary. She shows zero signs of discomfort and in fact, she seeks out the snow and starts plowing through it and playing in it.
She has wiry hair. Not thick fur. We have run down into the negatives.
