Kyrie comes off as an asshole all right. Supremely talented player though.
What surprises me is his claim that the Cavs wanted to trade him, implying he was pushed out rather than wanting to leave.
If that was so it seems like we could have gotten in on PGIII, Butler, or Chris Paul action. The presumption so far around here has been that Kyrie made a trade demand that came as a summer surprise.
Damn. Imagine BOS getting a top 5 pick right along with us in this draft. What can we add to this team next year besides the BKN pick? BOS is most likely going to add Hayward and a top 5 pick to what is currently the best team in the East.
On the flip side imagine Philly getting the #1 pick and having enough cap space to sign LeBron.

Basically Kyrie heard about a framework Griff had talked about with Indian and the Suns.... Kyrie to Phoenix...George and Bledsoe to Cleveland...#4 to Indiana.
Welll..the trade was never agreed upon. Phoenix didnt wanna trade #4 especially when they thought they were getting Josh Jackson who they coveted. The Cavs also weren't 100% in on trading Kyrie...but Griff was basically just doing his due diligence. It was never a super serious deal and it was never close to happening.
So Kyrie hears about that and was mad and thought we were shopping him...which just wasn't true. Griff was just doing his due diligence before he left the team. Then Griff left, Kyrie said nothing while Paul/George/Butler all were traded. Then a week or two later he meets with Gilbert in Vegas I believe but could be wrong on that detail and requests the trade.
There's a ton of he-said-she-said that goes with all of that which is hard to sort through...but the above is what I'm pretty sure can be confirmed at least as close to 100% as you can get with stuff like that.
